I'm not a big Pepsi fan, I prefer Coke, actually Diet Coke since I do not like sweet pop. And yep, sometime, depending on my mood if they don't have Diet Coke I'll take water or Iced Tea. Just don't like the taste of Pepsi, diet or not.

At the restaurant I serve at, Pepsi is on tap and I used to ask if Pepsi was ok since almost everyone asks for Coke. Some people yes, would refuse the Pepsi so they'd get a can of Coke if available. I stopped asking and so far no one has said "hey, I asked for Coke and this is Pepsi" so probably it's hard to tell the difference when it's on tap.

I can easily tell the difference between the taste of Coke and Pepsi.
Although I do have a preference, I'll take whichever the establishment has. I can understand anyone who won't take whatever they've got as they do taste different.
Perhaps some idiot will ask for say Coke and get Pepsi and then make a fuss and try to get out of paying because they didn't get what they asked for!

You have no idea how many times I've had to ask that question. At the restaurant, I only carried Pepsi products. Why? Because my customers loved Mt. Dew. And the Coke distributor would not allow me any of their products as long as I had Pepsi products. It had to be one or the other. Some kind of weird compete clause between the two.
But for some reason, grocery stores and convenience stores are exempt.

Yes, there are some really picky folks out there that will only drink either Pepsi or Coke. Personally, I don't really care and will drink what's on tap. But, my in-laws used to be hard core, Diet Pepsi drinkers and would have refused any Coke product.

There is a difference. Most people who are particular about the difference ask or look at the menu and then decide if they want Pepsi or something else. I like Diet Pepsi and yes I would prefer water to Diet Coke.

Because they don't serve Coke. There is a difference and some people get very upset if they ask for a Coke and get a Pepsi.

Yes, I like Coke but not Pepsi. At a movie theater this is an issue. But if I am at a restaurant I get water or iced tea.

They ask you that because there is a difference, and some people will not drink one or the other.. I will not drink Pepsi, and when they ask if Pepsi is okay I tell them no, make it DP instead.. I hate the taste of Pepsi.
