I really don't have much to spend on a party. However, I would like to do something memorable for her, as she has never had a party other then just our little family. I am open to any party money saving ideas. Also, do I have to serve more than drinks, cake and ice cream? Do I have to serve a whole meal? What time of the day is good for non-meal parties?

every year we have a reunion. Each year, more and more people participate in small ways. I was wondering how to get people to actually be in charge of certain events. i.e. organizing the pot luck, or kids games, or crafts. What has worked diplomatically for you in the past when delegating? Just curious. This is hubby's family and I absolutely love them, but somehow get myself in charge and reluctant to TELL people what to do, I usually ask in the newsletter for volunteers. Any other methods?

I'm going to invite a bunch of my co-workers out to a party to celebrate my 30th birthday. I need some ideas for places to hold the party at, etc. It needs to be clean (no naughty, erotic, etc.) and fun, but "adult-like". You know, like bowling, or something. But some ideas BESIDES the ole' bowling standard.

We are having a benefit for my dog who was attacked, and have to have a bunch of work done. I was looking for some ideas, also we are kind of having a debate about where to have it? My dad has a pretty big house pretty close to me w/ a pool, a big yard, pool table, horsehoes, volleyball, croquet, basketball net. I was thinking of having it there, charging a door charge, raffeling off prizes, and opening the bar for some cheap drinks. My dad also wanted to host a texas hold en tournament and my bf a basketball tournament during the day. He seems to think it would be better to have it at a lake pavillion. I'm not sure if this will work? There will be nobar, and no pool and etc. Which would you rather attend? We are hoping for around 100 ppl, is this too many for a house? Would you be more likely to attend an event at a house like i described or at a lake pavillion? Also, any more ideas on the benefit?

Thanks for any input or ideas!!

We are inviting 70 guests to our wedding this summer. Our venue is a Mansion House so no glasses available there. What's the best way around this problem? Hire or buy? And where from?! And how many glasses should I allow to take into account breakages/people wanting fresh glasses etc? Thanks.

I am planning a party for my boyfriend's 39th birthday. He is a veteran of the Iraq war and I wanted to theme it around this. Has anyone any army-themed ideas that you could give me? I also want to buy a "special" army-themed costume for "after the party" and if you have any ideas on where to purchase this, it would be appreciated. Thanks alot!!!
