if you make them right, they won't freeze but will stay cold in the freezer or fridge
when you put your first cup of water in and bring it to a boil, stir in your jello
then when you add your next cup of water, instead of water add in any amount of vodka you want, up to a cup (for a really good shooter) and stir as directed.
they won't freeze and they'll definitely be good !!!!! ☺

I have made Jello Shots even in a cooler!! So as long as you keep them cool they will be ok.
Kids seem to flock to the jello so IF there are children at this BBQ I would suggest making them their own liquior free of course!. I have done this and made a certain color for the kids. (blue jello)
Good luck and be careful you can get a bit buzzed from just a few!

Jello shots won't freeze. You also shouldn't make them too far in advance or the jello gets wonky, Just keep them in the refrigerator. Ice shots can be frozen. They are frozen shot glasses that you pour the shots into. Look at this site for the special ice shot recipes and the containers to make them. NOTE: these are stronger.

I've frozen jello shots several times. But I've never frozen them for more than a week. Just about 4 days ahead when I went to the beach with a bunch of friends!
Cool suggestion: I used Island Pineapple flavored jello with Amaretto!!!!!!!!!!!!! Totally yummy!!!!!!!!!!

I actually tried this one time and it didn't work to well. They turned out awful there was tons of ice chunks through out the jello shots. I ended up throwing them away and remaking them. I'm thinking they should last in your refrigerator .

Just put them in the fridge. Jello doesn't freeze. Make and refridgerate and you will be fine.

Nope. Jell-O shots are usually made with a clear liquor (Everclear or Vodka) and these liquors's do not freeze. I keep a bottle of vodka in my freezer and it has yet to freeze.
