Last year was the first year I did anything "holiday" away from my family. All of my guests really loved what I did, but I'm afraid this year will be exactly the same. I need something other than chease cake and toffie. New candy recipies would be great, and anything that looks really neat, but that someone without a tone of kitchen equipment can do.

I'm throwing a baby shower for my sister in April, and I want it to be calm and relaxing and beautiful. (Think Brittany Spears' baby shower. A middle -eastern theme with elaborate colors and pillows and fabrics) Does anyone know how I could do this on a budget? What stores to go to etc.

My boyfriend and I are arguing over what is the right thing to do. He thinks that the host should not expect any help, because that is why they are HOSTING the dinner party. I think it is appropriate to help clean-up because it is just one more way to show that you appreciate the meal and company.

Seems most people come with a long list of "can't eats" these days. How rare it is to see someone who enjoys a wide variety of foods and is willing to try new things without rudely spitting them out and pretending to gag when you don't like it.

I am not a particular eater (assuming the food is different and not poorly made), I think it's because my mom experimented a lot and we weren't allowed to pick and choose what we ate. What about you?

A couple of us are willing to try this soon.
However, I feel you could have 1 cheesburger every 45 seconds.
After about 5 you will start slowing down. So how many in an hour? (Without throwing up please)

There is a large group of us getting together at the end of this month. Including children it will be 60 people. What usually happens is the women in the different families prepare a large meal together. It's a lot of work, because after the meal, there's washing up and cleaning to do, and there's always someone who complains about the food or service.

This time we want it to be different, in that maybe go to a restaurant or have the party it at someone's place, but noone should cook the food. Any ideas what we should do? Some people are prepared to contribute $20 each, but others will only pay $5.

If it helps we are in Montreal, so restaurant or catering ideas would be welcome. Thanks.

I am currently the student congress president of my college. As part of our "duties" we are in charge of homecoming. We have a court but they just dress in "formals" not anything to do with the theme. Basically I have to decorate a huge lobby in our gymnasium with some sort of theme. Any ideas would be great. Thanks!

I went out for dinner the other night, and the bill came to £41 something, so I handed over £50. The waiter picked it up and said "Do you want the change?"

I thought it was so rude and presumptious I just said "yes please" and didn't leave a tip (which normally I would).
