- instead of buying beverages to drink with your meals like soda or coffee, drink plain water instead
- replace the white bread you eat with tortillas
- when you find lean meat on sale, buy in bulk and freeze what you won't use in a week
- pack mini snacks to take to work/school that are healthy (baby carrots, small handful of Triscuits, low fat mozzarella sticks, whole fruit,)
- keep gum and mints in your purse or desk at work to eat/chew as an alternative to a fatty snack

Pair a protein with veggies. Chicken is great and pretty cheap. You can roast a whole chicken inexpensively. Or you can grill the breasts. Most people would take off the skin, but if you're eating well all day and laying off fat, you could keep it on for flavor and to make you feel more satisfied. Also, lean cuts of beef and pork are good in moderation. Seafood is perfect for healthy eating. Salmon and tuna steaks are easy to prepare. Just look for recipes online and get tips on choosing the best and freshest fish.
For the veggies, salads dressed with vinaigrettes and tossed with a VARIETY of veggies (not just iceberg lettuce) are attractive and tasty, and perfect with chicken. Try just adding your favorite vegetables as a side, but don't boil them or cook them in fat so as to retain their nutritional value. Steaming is usually the best method.

The healthiest food is salads and fruits and Soups. Just make sure you have atleast one meal in a day with only these three things. Try making these things at home so it will be cheaper. Its pretty simple, Just cut the veggies add in a bowl add a pinch of salt and let it boil for 30 minutes , Then eat the veggies and drink the soup. Have lots of fruits everyday. Make it a routine. you will see the difference.

Good luck!

Whole wheat pasta and brown rice instead of white. Whole wheat or whole grain bread instead of white. Lots more veggies and grains that you probably eat now.

Soup. It's easy to make, and if you make a big pot, you can eat it for a few days.
