Any advise on something easy to cook and not so spendy (Keep in mind we are Mexican)

Having a progressive dinner and our house will serve appetizers. This is a Christmas party/dinner. People will only be at our house for 30 minutes. Main course will be Prime Rib so I figure I probably will need some things lite...both hot & cold. Any favorites?

Not sure if I'll be given the funds to provide table or individual party favors, but we're having a company reunion in January, for about 200 people. Need something really cheap since it's going to probably be on me.

Our office products company was bought out 3 years ago by a bigger company (competitor) and our fomer chairman has graciously offered to sponsor a nice dinner here, in Southern California.

I supposed I could be really "goofy" and just put paper clips on all of the tables. That was our "first" and best selling product!

I have thought of having a choir come and sing carols, or a small musical group (ie quartet) come and entertain for 1 hour.

I'm hoping to entertain my friends and family, without playing games; there are going to be too many people of different ages and interests to have a game night be success. So, I'm hoping for some small entertainment. Any ideas?

I heard you can get high from licking certain breeds of toads. That would be useful for us living in the trailer park when the welfare cheque is late.

my roomate's birthday is in 3 days. I want to take her out on a little picnic, but I dont' know what to bring or make or anything.
heres the bits of info I'm working from:

she loves tea. if I can figure out a way to bring or make hot tea in the middle of a wooded park, I definately want to, but I need ideas for how to accomplish this.
if this is accomplished, I'm pretty sure I want to make her some white tea because she said she really wanted to try it.

as far as food goes, I have no clue. she's going to have plenty of cake and stuff like that already for her birthday, so I'm looking for light finger foods, easy to make (i'm no pro) that arn't pastry or heavy breaded things.
sandwiches are way too easy.

tomorrow I'm buying a picnic basket and putting together a few of the basic tools for the date.

people! give me suggestions for food and everything else. mostly help me come up with way to make the hot tea! thermos just doesn't seem like it'll work well enough.

I'm having a Casino night/house warming. The grill will be on with burgers and hot dogs. I want some additional appetizers/finger type foods. I'm looking for those simple but delicious recipes. Stuffed bellpeppers, the crockpot cheese mix, spinach artichoke dip or something. Anything I can prepare the day before and/or is really simple will be appreciated. I am a procrastinator and know the day of will be chaotic.

I am responsible for setting up my company Christmas party in Northeastern Cincinnati. We want to do something activity oriented but keep the cost to about $10 - $15 a head. There are 30 - 35 people.

Anyone with any good ideas?

P.S. I've already called Dave & Busters and they are way more expensive than that if you buy game chips for people.

I also called a local bowling alley (Mason Bowl) but they don't let you bring in outside food and only have bar food to serve.

Help! My son is turning 3 on December 4th and we are at a loss as to what we should do for his party. We don't want to have a party at home as we have a 3 month old and a very friendly dog. Sure we could board the dog but to be quite honest we don't want the work that comes with inviting 30 people into our home. We figure that for the same amount as boarding the dog, purchasing the party supplies, food and cake, we could have the party elsewhere and not have to worry about the set up/clean up, etc.

Does anyone have any ideas on where we could have the party?

Please keep in mind that this is for a 3 year old, with his guests ranging in age from 1 1/2 to 10 years of age (not including parents and family).

We live in Southwest Scarborough (Toronto), Ontario.

Thanks!!!
