The earlier ideas were good, but don't forget:
Food) pop rocks and ring pops!
Music) Michael Jackson, Culture Club, Cyndi Lauper, Wham!
Here is a website with some decent recommendations:
http://freehosting.hostrave.com/p/thegnarly80s/usamusic.html
Decorations) lots of black and white checks with neon streamers...lava lamps would be great...put out a magic 8 ball if you can find one
Clothes) leggings with layered socks, an over-sized tee tied up on one side and a side ponytail
Here is a great site for t-shirts:
http://www.80stees.com/
If you have bangs, divide them into 2 sections, upper and lower. Curl the top half up and the bottom half under. Then fluff and tease until they're as high as you can get them. Then spray with most of a can of aquanet.
Games) twister, Trivial Pursuit, and a costume contest would be fun.
Make sure you do the Safety Dance.
Movies) Pretty in Pink, Ghostbusters, Top Gun, Ferris Buehler's Day Off
Accessories) slap bracelets and jelly bracelets
frosty pink lipstick and bright blue eyeshadow...if you're having trouble picturing it, check out Jem (the best 80s cartoon ever)

Sooo Many choices! For food and drinks, nachos, Pizza is always good you can always do fondue! they were big then. As was big hair lots of hairspray. Music, Flock of Seagulls, or go to any record store and ask for 80's music. Clothes were kind of bright like neon greens and yellows and pink and gray were hot then too. Tight suits with lots polyester, lots of big accessiories will work.
Move up from disco , new age deco and any trivial pursuit or board game will do. Flashdance, Officer and a Gentleman, Multipicity with Michael Keaton and Andie MacDowell
Have fun!

Tab sodas, any food is fine.
Lock of seagulls, madonna, pat benetar, bon jovi, poison, whitesnake, the list goes on.
Crimp your hair! If you don't have a crimper, put your hair into a binch of tiny braids the night before, then the day of, take them out, and tease your hair a bit. Don't for get to do your bangs if you have them.

food: you could do almost anything
music: the gogo's, culture club, micheal jackson (thriller era), prince (purle rain era), early REM, early madonna
clothes: you have to have parachute pants and fingerless lace gloves
decorations: lots of crepe paper streamers
movies: anything with the brat pack in it ( breakfast club, sixteen candles, st. elmo's fire, etc.)
fondue by the way was from the 70's but it is becoming popular again now.

Pigs in blankets were popular. Have a disco party, hire someone to teach an hour or two of disco dance lessons, buy a couple disco albums, yep albums, and get down!
