I have a suspicion that 'meeting the parents' is much more big a deal for women than it is for men. It certainly seems to have caused arguments with some couples I know! So - is it a confirmation that you are serious about your partner, or does it not mean anything in particular?

OK, I think I'm in love with a guy. He's on my mind all the time, I can't even look at another bloke without an image of him flashing into my head, its like it actually hurts my heart, like i can feel a pain there, is this true love? I've known him for a couple of years and always had a thing for him, then when we met about a month ago we slept together and I've seen him a few times, and spoken ont he phone, can it be true love after a short amount of time?
Also, the situation between us is impossible. I have 100% followed my heart and not my head, and up to now so has he, but reality has kicked in and he seems to be following his head. If anyone ever found out we were together that would pretty much be the end of our lives, but I am prepared to go through that, but I don't have kids to lose and he does. If he loved me unconditionally, which I think he could do (but theres a big age gap) would he come clean? Even though everything else might fall to pieces?
Someone please help!

My boyfriend left me a week ago for no apparent reason. He just came to my house hugged and kissed me and said he loved me but he couldnt be with me anymore.
I am so devstated as he was the first person i have evr loved.
i feel so down and worthless and sometimes feel like i dont want to be here no more as my life is not worth living. I am so alone.

Why does he sometimes back away, even after 2 years of caring about eachother? He has told me he loves me. He knows I would do anything for him. So why does he do stupid s#it like not text me back when i text him with a question, or not get in touch with me for a week or so? I have heard the whole "He's Just Not That Into You" thing, but I know he does care. I just don't understand how he could care, yet push away so much. I really really like this guy and I am pretty sure he really likes me. We get on famously and all the signs are there but I am quite playful and talk about sex a lot. How do I show him that I really like him and want him to be my boyfriend. I think he thinks I'm a sex maniac and have high expectations. I wish now that I hadn't run my mouth so much in the beginning. I don't want to scare him away, he is still showing massive signs of interest but I can tell he is insecure and nervous around me. I recently started a new job and am going out with a guy at work who persued me for a while before I agreed to go out with him. Everything is fine except there's this married woman there keeps making snide remarks about me to my colleagues and to my face.

We've only been together 9 months and I am completely head over heels. He knows how I feel but when I asked if he loved me, he said he doesnt yet.
In his last relationship (which ended about 3 years ago), he said it took him almost 2 years to love her.

He did say that he feels more for me than he did for her at this stage in the relationship, and that he thinks he can love me
