I often get the feeling that people - girls in particular (but probably guys, too) - get bummed out around the holidays when they are single. They want someone to share all of that mushy stuff with. Pumpkin picking on Halloween, Christmas cheer, and of course, Valentines Day. There's also the fact that the media is constantly flashing to ads of couples exchanging expensive gifts. Do you think the seasonal festivities can make it easier for a guy to pick up a girl? I mean...hell, I'm a single guy, and I sort of wish I had someone to have fun with this time of year. I want someone to see a scary movie with and to hang on to when the snow starts coming down! How about it? Girls...are you more open to dating a guy because of the season? It seems like if there was a prime time to fish for a date…it would be between the months of October and February. Am I right?

she already knows that i like her and in my previous question, everyone said i should still ask her out. I asked her before this to go rock climbing with me and she said yes. Now the guy said it would be too cold so we have to do it next year. My schools musical is coming up soon and i want to ask her to go out with me and go to that. How should i do it. Should i just ask her when i tell her about the rock climbing?

Recently after 2 months of dating i realise how shallow and materialitic my gf is. She's critical about everything i wear which makes me feel self-conscious, and she always shuts me out of events that happen in her life. I've talked to her about all of this but things have failed to improve. The only thing thats keeping me in there is the fact that i've slept with her and that attachment is still strong. Everytime she's busy she almost completely bars me off, and thats hurts everytime. I feel like i'm at a crossroads.........what do u guys advise?

This girl and l work together. We are both fulltime students. She has 3 jobs outside of school. We go to dif schools and I only work 1 job. We met at work, but i never really started talkin to her til the end of the summer. She was told that I was the "shy" guy, and her goal was to get me to be more open. We saw each other at a party before school started and talked all night. We have since talked online alot. We have been on 1 date, and she's been to my house once and ive been to her house once. I didnt make a move after either, but plan on doin so after the next date. We havent done much together for about 2 weeks, but it is partly due to her complicated schedule. Ive asked her if we are goin to do nething the past two weeks, but she said she cant b/c she has to work, or has plans with her friends. Our company Xmas party is comin up, which i plan on askin her to, but I dnt know if she is playin hard to get, or if she has lost interest. We have both admitted 2 havin a crush eachother

So, I'm 16, and ever since i was little i didnt quite "fit-it" with the typical lifestyle of a teenager. Even through all the bull I was still the eternal optimist. I hung out alot with my sisters so that caused me to be "overly feminine". Now i know i'm not gay, for its im attracted to females, and not males. Also, i dont think cause a person understands females means there gay. Now things are going wrong for me, girls i meet place me in the FRIEND portion of there heart and not the potential boyfriend part. I really despise that. 1 - because i feel like i'm a great guy, and a girl should be lucky to have me. But as my sisters say, i do things that arent "normal". Like, i come from a pretty awesome family, financly stable so i buy girls lavish gifts, i do alot of things kids my age dont do. I just wnat to know, how do i stop being the friend and start being the boyfriend. It happens constantly. I will only know if im gay, and im not, so why is this happening?

k, so, im just looking for random opinions. the basic question is this: in a dating relationship, should I lean toward commitment because I don't want to establish a pattern of leaving when times get tough, or should I lean towards breaking up because, when considering marriage, i don't want to risk making a permanent mistake?

A little bit of background: I've been dating this guy for 19 months. hes great, stable, loves me... but he doesnt do the 'little things' that would make me be sure. So, I find myself not sure what to do. Do I give him the benefit of the doubt and lean toward commitment? or do I stop seeing him and find someone who loves me in the ways that I need to be loved?

ok, so this weekend i was with my ex bf, and i was just joking around with him in the car, and he exploded! he freaked out and started hitting me, he choked me until i felt to the point of passing out and shoved me out of his truck. i have bruises all over, and needless to say its over. he called my friend and told her next time it happened i would get it ten times worse and end up on life support. i keep getting calls from blocked numbers on my cell phone, im really kind of scared. i dont doubt that he would come after me, im 17 and im home alone for 5 out of 7 days of the week. he already has a warrant out for his arrest. i dont know if i should buy mace, or if that would just piss him off and i need a knife or something? my neighbor said she thought she saw his car driving around our neighborhood. i dont know what to do.

If you remember, I screwed up and cheated on my girlfriend from Canada. This was after she hit me in the face with a cheeseburger mind you. But enough on that, Most of you advised me to forget about ever getting her back after I did such an awful thing as cheating on her.
