I think you should ask her because chances are she will say yes. She already agreed to go rock climbing with you so she at least likes you as a friend, if not more. I know I always responded better when a guy seemed confident but sincere when he expressed an interest in me. Just be yourself and if she is the kind of girl who will value a person like you, she will like and accept you just the way you are. If not, then she was not worth your time.

You know she wants to go out with you if she already said yet. Tell her the guy said it's too cold for rock climbing but you would like to know what she would like to do instead.
suggest the musical or what she would rather do.... she will like that a lot.
good luck!!

Honesty is always the best policy. When you tell her that you have to skip on the rock climbing, tell her why, and then say hey instead would you like to go the my school musical with me. That way she will know that you are not trying to back out on your date with her

I would mention the rock climbing, and how you have to wait, then casually just say to her if she still wants to get together you have the musical coming up. chances are, if shes willing to go rock climbing with you, she will go to the musical

Just explain to her that the rock climbing will have to wait till
next year. And tell her about your musical , and that you would
like her to go.

first, tell her gently tha bad news about the rock climbing, but, add a great big cheery "but" and say you would gladly take her to the Musical in the meantime.
