I had to end a relationship with a man who was in actuallity very good to me personally. I was the first black lady he had ever dated. As a matter of fact he proposed and I had to decline. If I had accepted I would be wife number 3. He’s fairly well off financially and very generous, but that wasn’t my reason for dating him. Initially, I adored him as a person. But here’s the problem he is ridiculously jealous. He is 19 years older than me, which I think contributed to his insecurities and he’s also pretentious. But the biggest problem is that he’s a racist. He is outwardly prejudiced towards Black men more so than any other group. He has made rude and inappropriate comments. Once when he thought I wasn’t listening. I over heard him using the “N” word with a few of his friends.

I am a half-white/half-hispanic male with a white girlfriend. My facial features don't give my hispanic side away, but my skin tone does. Her dad supports us, but her mom is trying in all her power to keep her daughter as far away from me as possible. We are both 19, by the way. I find it unfair that her mom forbids her to date anyone that isn't white. She boasts loudly of high family violence rates in biracial marriages (I have tried to research this, and I have found nothing to support that , allegedly, 85% of Hispanic males beat their White partners). Her problem is mostly of "racial purity", as she stated that I could treat her daughter like gold (which i do), and she still would not approve. I, however, can not speak a lick of Spanish, and have no ties to the culture whatsoever, and I don't identify myself with a race other than "human". I am starting a journalism project about this, and I want your opinions on biracial relationships. My opinion? Your skin is not your brain.

Before i dated my ex, he was my best friend. Well when we split we kinda drifted. I want to check in on him, jus a simple "hey. jus seein how u were. Hope everything is good" type thing without makin it akward. Somehting when he reads it , he'll smile and appreciate it. So i am asking if you think it would make me look desperate and such or is there no harm in it. I havent spoken to him in awhile, so if it is alrite to check in on him. Okay..its this guy, he lives across the street from me. So yesterday, he was going towards his house from my side of the block, i happened to look up, because i was talking to someone, and there he was looking at me, and then he jecked his head in another direction. Last summer, our block had a block party, and he kept waving at my mom and i, with a big smile on his face, is he trying to get in good with my mom, to get with me or what. I dont talk to this guy like that, but I did when I was younger, but that was when he first moved on our block.
