Before i dated my ex, he was my best friend. Well when we split we kinda drifted. I want to check in on him, jus a simple "hey. jus seein how u were. Hope everything is good" type thing without makin it akward. Somehting when he reads it , he'll smile and appreciate it. So i am asking if you think it would make me look desperate and such or is there no harm in it. I havent spoken to him in awhile, so if it is alrite to check in on him. What should i say?. tanything helps, thanks.

OK girl, do you still like this boy? because if you do this is not just any old check in. but lets keep it subtle like you want it, you need not to write him a note, not seem desperate and looks like you spent alot of time on it. you need to call, leave a message " hey kiddo, jus checkin up on you, how you been" something like that

ask me more

I sent one of those emails to my ex. We had been together for 5 years, and once we separated, he refused to speak to me or otherwise acknowledge my presense. About a year after we broke up, I sent him a "hey, how are you doing, good luck after law school" letter. However, I heard through the grapevine that he interpreted that as me wanting to get back together with him.

I don't know how long you two were together, or how delusional your ex may be (if he's anything like mine), but I say it serves no point. It may make you feel better, but I doubt it will change your friendship situation. After hearing how my ex interpreted the email, I was ready to write him off forever.

Regardless, that's just my situation. Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

Tell him that he crossed your mind the other day and were wondering how things were going. Tell him a little bit about how things are going in your life. How you miss the friendship wouldn't hurt either. It'll make him smile knowing you haven't forgetten about him or the friendship even though you've drifted apart.

as long as in your doing so you make it completely clear you are only saying hello as a friend and nothing more he should be alright also if he has a new woman be careful she understands it is strictly friend only talking to her first is a good way to ensure she is cleaar about your intentions some women get really jealous of ex's that are still friends i know i am friends with a few of the guys i use to date getting past the new women is the hardest part to staying friends

There is nothing wrong with checking up on him as long as you make it clear that you are not making an attempt to get back with you. Let him know that regardless of what happened between the two of romantically as nothing to do with the friendship you had with him. It wouldn't be wrong to let him know that you still value him as a friend.

I don't care what anyone says, once you've had your face between someone's legs, there is no... i repeat... NO going back to friends. Ever. He'll think you want to hook up. Do you? Ask yourself why you want to talk to him.... and remember that as a male, he will totally misinterpret it.

Yeah I think it's fine where you guys were friends first. I don't think it will make you look desperate. Just say exactly what you said on here.

Well just act like you did before and during cause he was your bestfriend while yall was goin out, cause you'd call him up when you was indistress. even your b/f, ex b/f is your best friend, and that's what friends are for. Right? just be yourself.

Just be like:

"I was looking at some old pictures of us the other day. We looked so dorky in our Halloween outfits!! (or something like that. idk how old you are or what pictures you really do have so just fill something in there.) We really need to get together and catch up sometime.
