Singles & Dating - 20 June 2006

I'm 44, she's 42. We have a lot of similar interests, we get along great, she has a big heart and the sex is fabulous. Her 2 kids and mine get along reasonably well also. She also adores me and thinks I hung the moon. That's the positive part.

The negative part is that I still enjoy being single. I llook 10 years younger and still attract a lot of women who are more attractive than her. She also ooks older than me too and she has some idiosyncacies which really annoy me. My kids also tire of exchanging homes every weekend.

The problem is that SHE breaks-up with me periodically cuz she can sense I'm not really into her sometimes. Then she inevitably emails me wanting to hangout again. I end up getting back with her because truthfully I do miss her. I just don't know that I'll ever get over my committment issue.

Another thing is that only 5% of women over 40 ever remarry. Is it because we men are so superficial when it comes to looks? Why should I be any different?

I met a lovely girl on a dating web-site.
We met up and both we and our children got on really well.
She is pregnant with another man's child, but this does not bother me at all, but understandably she is cautious about being hurt.
We both have feelings for each other, and feel that we might make a commitment.

I am the romantic type that loves to do nice things for her man. I dont cheat or flirt with other guys and I like to show my man how much i love him. I have had several relationships but in everyone i get cheated on. I recently got dumped by my 4 yr boyfriend b.c he was cheating. Two weeks later i went out on a date. when i got home and told my friend about it she told me he had a girlfriend. Why do guys cheat if they have a good girl already?

So, my girlfriend and i have been together for 7 years in a mostly long distance relationship, we went to seperate colleges have seperate careers (she is in Med School - I am in sales), both of us have felt like we needed a break at one point or another but we have never broken it off completely. there has been true love here the kind you may never find in a million years of searching. She decided that she loves me, but is no longer in love (for now). We still talk everyday and see eachother once in awhile, She is my bestfriend, but i can not just be friends with her right now there is no initimacy, she has been coming around more and being warmer with hugs and actual passionate kisees. But still needs to time. What else can i do to get her back...not convince her or trick her to love me, but get her to feel the same way.

Ok, I am 26 and divorced. I have two little girls. I have been dating a 29 year old for the last 4 months and I think I am in love with him. The other night when he was out with his friends, he called me drunk and said he didnt love me and he didnt want to hurt me. I ran into him the next night and told him I want to date him and he said the ball is in my court. He works 45 minutes away and goes to school an hour away. When we are together I get the impression that we are ment to be together. Their is a spark!! Am I wasting my time with a guy who said that to me when he was drunk? I have this girl who promised to send me pictures through mail and was not planning on doing it the whole time she said she would send them. She kept promising me she would send me pictures through mail and they never came like she said. I asked many times for the truth and she said she didn't send me them because she was afraid I may not like what I see. I am the kind of person who calls it like I see it. My thing is, she should have told me the very first time I asked for the pictures that she was not going to send them because she was scared I won't like them. I never flat out called her liar by saying "you're a liar". She feels upset and hurt that I called her a liar, so she says. I told her she hurt her own credibilty by not telling me the truth from the very start. I am a call it like I see it kind of person. If someone tells something other than the truth, what is it then? I am trying to get through her head that she is the one who didn't tell the truth from the start.

I met Sean at work about 7 years ago. He had the most beautiful eyes which I could feel go through my soul . Within a short time we became very close friends and then a couple. Our relationship was filled with so much love and affection for each other. Sean was technically still married and his wife wasn't aware of our relationship. We both agreed we should wait to tell her until after they divorced so the proceedings would go smooth. He said it would take about a year. That one year turned into 6 years. We were getting along great best friends and lovers I never trusted or loved anyone more in my life. I rearranged my whole life to start a new one with him. We were supposed to get married and move to Florida at the end of that year. I got a call telling me that his wife found out about our relationship and she was going to prevent him from seeing their daughter. He needed me to lie to her for him and I said I couldn't do it. That day he ended our relationship and said he is sorry.

I told her I wanted both of us to get tested for STDs/diseases before we have sex even though she says she is a virgin. My reasoning is because I'm serious about our relationship and I just don't want to take any chances with diseases since you don't necessarily always get them from sex. She got into this big argument over what happened to trust and honesty is our relationship. Did I do the right thing?
