My girlfriend has had sores in her mouth for about the past 3 months, during this time we have still kissed, and nothing has appeared in my mouth, is it safe to say they are just canker sores and would not cause problems via oral sex etc.?

And it's just weird because we've been dating for 2 years, and they haven't popped up since about 3-4 months ago, and how do you know the difference between canker sores and herpes?

Ugg The answers from people on here who don 't know what they are talking about makes me furious. Canker sores inside the mouth are NOT HERPES or a sexually transmitted disease of any kind. Cold sores are a type of Herpes. Those are the sores that show up on the lips outside of the mouth. EDIT: For the person who said that Herpes is a disease that you can not kill.... you are correct. However, the sores will come and go as they please. The sores do heal... just like a cold sore WILL heal but the disease stays in the bloodstream and the sores can pop up whenever they want, although they tend to be linked with stress.

I got clinically diagnosed with the herpes simplex virus (type 2) about six years ago, when I was still attending college and had a stupid one-night stand. I just made a massive mistake that one time and suddenly I felt like I was going to have to live with the consequences for the rest of my life. The worst part was feeling I could never date guys again. In the end, who wants to go out with someone that has sores around her you-know-what? But since a friend shared this video everything changed https://tr.im/HerpesCures2015ZZKi

Not only was I able to clear away all traces of the hsv from my body in less than 21 days, but I was also able to begin dating once more. I even met the man of my dreams. This method provided me the opportunity to be happy and experience real love. Now I want to enable you too by sharing this with the whole World.

STOP! Don't kiss her anymore! I'm serious. No offense to your girlfriend, but herpes can stay dormant for 2 weeks to a year. A year later you could get the same thing in your mouth and it all reflects on you kissing your girlfriend. When there are no sores in her mouth, that is the safest time to kiss her, but then again, you never know. Keep yourself safe. I'm not trying to scare you, but you may already have it. If I were you I would see a doctor and ask your girlfriend to do the same.

Canker sores are not a form of herpes, you can't catch that, don't worry.

I am not a doctor, but I just recently had a canker sore, kissed my gf and she did not get anything from it. I checked WEBMD and confirmed that what I had is not herpes. Check it out!

There is a chance is it just canker sores, but if she really cared about you and you really cared about her then there should be no problem with going to see a doctor and having it checked out to be on the safe side.
