Singles & Dating - 6 June 2006

What is the sick crap that makes me want what I can't have...I got seriously hurt by an ex now I can't find a nice available guy (NO I am not looking for one though this questions keep moving sicko)...I like (but don't touch) all the ones I can't have. Any thoughts on breaking this new painful cycle short of counseling?

I am a teenage guy, going out on my first official date with my girlfriend. I need to know what the best thing to do is from a girl's perspective. Should i pay for everything? Should I hold her hand? Anything i should know? Any info you can give me would be greatly appreciated. ~Thanks

I've been seeing a guy for about 3 months I've been with him everyday. I know I've changed being with him, and he's not the nicest guy. I enjoy his company though, were not in a reloationship and that's what bothers everyone. I stay the night at his house several days in a row and I never have time with anyone. I really care about this guy ALOT!!! He still has never met my family though, then the other night my dad kicked me out of the house for being with this guy, my friends all hate him, and I wish I could see where they are coming from, but my heads all clouded with how much I care about this guy. I'm 20 years old and I should be able to do what I want, but peole say he's going to hurt me and there just trying to help me before it happens, but there are so many times that I think he's starting to love me. I don't know if its real but it feels that way to me I know I'm being nieve, but what if I end it then I spend a long time wondering What If?

and could pick the physical characteristics of a man who would share those 2 years with you - what would you pick and why?
(for example - tall - so he can see dnager coming, wide shoulders - to carry you on, sixpack - so he doesnt need too much food, well endowed - after all you need something to play with for 2 years! etc??)

I am a 30 yr old divorced mom. I have a wonderful 10 year old daughter who is the light of my life. I had to have a hysterectomy when I was 26 and can't ever have more children. I am totally fine with this.

I have recently started trying to date again, but it seems like when I tell a man I can't have kids he runs like crazy. Please don't suggest adopting, because these are guys who have never had their own kids and want to have their children or nothing.

Is this a common guy thing? What is the big deal?

My bf & I spent the weekend together along with his daughter & mine. Well, he said he wanted me to treat his daughter like I would mine. Well she acted up & I got onto her. Well my bf didn't take too well. We talked about it Monday & he didn't blame me but....I can't help that fact he is still upset about it. Well, he mentioned that we might need to slow down. I sorta agree. We were moving too fast. Anyway, since then he has not call me names that he used to such as baby, gorgeous, sexy....& I expected not to talk as much through the day. We also are still going to the lake with his family & kids. Now this incident happened Sunday. He asked later that day for me to stay one more night & we were intimate. Today I asked him if we were still romantically involved even though we were slowing down & he said yes very excited. Now I am new to dating again since my divorce. Am I reading too much into this & worry for nothing. Do you think we are ok as a couple? Please help! I am freaking out.

I read somewhere that U.S. women have twice the "partnes" then their male counterparts. Assuming you "date" a guy every 4 months thats alot of pole. Arent you ashamed of yourselves? What will you tell your future fiance? Not to mention your kids if you dont already have them from different babies daddy's.

I must admit,if u call me when im asleep i may say silly things without even knowing it. I was half-asleep in my bed Sunday night.
My boyfriend called me at about 12:30 and said he was 'very moist' in a sexy voice. I dated a girl for about a month and it didn't end all that well, but not extremely badly. Anyway I'm on myspace and a few weeks after it ended with her, her sister contacted me and we've started chatting a bit. I am confident, intelligent, good-looking, and friendly. I have a good job, am in college, have great friends, etc. The only thing I don't ever have is a date! Many of my friends are males, and they have not asked me on dates (lots of them don't have jobs, so I'm not even counting them). I meet men through work and through friends who I can tell are interested in me, but they do not ask to see me again or even for my phone number. Is this really a day and age when girls just are NOT asked out? Or have you any suggestions on ways to encourage someone to ask me out? It's a little more than a little frustrating at times. Here is the scoop-
I am "seeing" this guy who lives about 3 hours away. We have dated in the past when I lived in his town, and he broke it off when things started going the way of a serious relationship. We did not speak for almost a year, and then by way of a friend we happened to see eachother at a party and have resumed this "hanging out." He is currently teaching full time and in the end stages of getting his master's degree in special ed and therefore does not have much time for me, which I can't get mad at. However, my feelings for him have gone beyond the casual environment of our relationship and I feel I am too old for this whole "weekend lover" thing. He tells me that he truly looks forward to our time together, and that he misses me, and wants to see me again. I really like him and have heard that he really likes me but since he's not sure of what he wants to do (he may move to NYC in a year) he doesn't want to admit it..suggestions?
