I am a 30 yr old divorced mom. I have a wonderful 10 year old daughter who is the light of my life. I had to have a hysterectomy when I was 26 and can't ever have more children. I am totally fine with this.

I have recently started trying to date again, but it seems like when I tell a man I can't have kids he runs like crazy. Please don't suggest adopting, because these are guys who have never had their own kids and want to have their children or nothing.

Is this a common guy thing? What is the big deal?

I think most of us come to a point in our life's when we want to experience the joy of a new born child !

Of course this is a common thing. Most men want to be in a relationship, marry and have kids of their own. They want to experience all of the drama, effort and love there is to creating a child and seeing it for the first time. The big deal is that you had the opportunity to experiencing the "light of your life" and maybe a man wants to do the same.

Try dating guys who already have kids. They might even be thrilled at not starting a new family.
