Friends - February 2007

I'm in 8th grade and I'm friends with like 2 of the girls @ my lunch table, which is the only reason I sit their anyway. They've recently been talking about doing something this weekend, but theyve NEVER included me in their plans. I also know another girl at our table probably wont be included either. So should I ignore them? Or should I just act like I'm invited and say something when their talking about this? Also, one girl was naming off people who said thay could probably go, and that list of names did NOT include me. I usually dont talk very much at lunch but it really hurts when they talk about doing stuff that doesnt include me.

I dont know if it is worth it to tell my friend (acquaintance really) that I have wanted to be friends with their group for years and I regret that I havent so much and I hate myself for it. Because I think this is my last chance to get in their group of friends because I was so shy the last time they were inviting I think they think I just want to be acquaintances now. I lost my chance to get in normally and should that mean I lost my chance forever? I also dont want to lose my reputuation as a quiet person, which I worked pretty hard to get people to think, but nobody likes me anymore because I dont talk, except the kids in my senior class who know me better. But theres only 3 months left of school, and I know either way I go I'm going to regret something. I'm just not a happy person. But they make me happy for a while whenever Im with them.

Well she was on the toliet in her bathroom, and she tells me, "Ashley don't come in I'm peeing." and yes by the way she is a girl, and so am i. then she's like, "unexpectantly i am going to moon you," and she also says "you know you wanna see me". and she's like, "one of these days i will moon you". What does she mean by "I am going to moon you?"

I'm a single mother with one child. I am currently living with my exboyfriend. Our relationship has been over for some time now. It's an ackward situation, I shouldn't be here. I am employed, but rent in the Los Angeles area is out of control. Serious answers only please.

I just lost a friend over a play. My friends and I are making a play on High School Musical and this friend named Allison is Gabriella Montez and I was Troy and I just told her we found an actaull boy for Troy because I hated acting a guy! They always fight and my mom has been talking to a guy online. My dad sides with my brother and my mom with my sister. My sister constantly says she hates my dad and mom does nothing about it. Everything my mom says/does is negative to my dad. It has to do with money being held by my dad and control, a big word in this house. My mom has stomach problems and she is always moody. My sister is 16, im 20 and my brother is 14. My mom is a stay at home mom but is also a president at an animal shelter. Sometimes it seems like she cares more about the animals than she does the family, except for my sister. If my sister needs to go anywhere or do anything its almost an instant as long as she asks mom. At night if I come out to get something to eat(my mom sleeps in the living room(as do my brother/sister) then she will yell at me like its in the daytime even though people are sleeping. I want the best for my family but I dont know what to do. Where do I start? What can i do? Thanks!

Thank you for your thoughtful and comprehensive reply. I am very pleased to hear you want to go forward with this plan. Also happy to hear about your update regarding the store.

In fact, I already have mostly cleared out the room upstairs that will go to you. It sure looks a lot bigger without all that stuff in there. I wanted to see if there really was enough space for my baby and I to share one room. Well, my baby and my clothes fit in the same closet without any problem. I moved my computer downstairs, and once that was out of the way, pretty much all mine and my baby's bedroom stuff fit without any undue effort. Still have some organizing work to do, and a few more trips to Goodwill & the trashcan.

On a different note, I have not yet gotten my tax refund, which was going to fund my travel to your house. My baby 's birthday broke my budget this month plus I overpaid on my loan, not thinking about things like gas money. Although, it is still possible I will get that refund tomorrow (Tuesday). I will let you know how that turns out.

If we don't chat tonight, have a nice sleep, interesting dreams, and I will get in touch w/you tomorrow.

I find it difficult to make friends; I'm going through a rough spot so want to spend as much time with others as possible.

I had what could be called a 'problem childhood' making it difficult for me to talk to people, I also don't get along with other women which means men only, which can be problematic at first. I'm told I can be intimidating & worry about what people think of me, but once you get to know me I'm an amazing person.

All current friends sprung from my last job – all very good friends, but with busy lives; partners, kids, mortgages. School friends I no longer talk to & ex-partners friends become ex-friends, you know how that works.

It's not just the HOW to make friends in terms of finding people with shared interests/humour/etc, how to talk to people & get to the point of being friends, but the WHERE as I can't just go to a pub alone to start talking to people, other than work there is no where else to meet new people.

I feel like i am the only one trying to make this relationship work! He has a little sister and always give her the fone!! (And dont even say just try to be nice becauz i tired and in the end she still is a b!+ch) And he always answers the fone for her gay friends and she never does that for me! in all in a day we talk for maybe 2 hrs!! i am a girl i talked to this guy in the library for 1 hour i didnt know him. i found out his name hobbies, and he even helped me bring my gov grade up. i gave him my number and he got mine, that friday he started a conversation with me. then he started talking to me, he saw me at school, and he gave me a hug (a real 2 handed hug). today i saw him and i was talking to him, we were alone, he smiled at me and just stared into my eyes as i was talking. u could tell that he was nervous Then he gave me a hug, it was the so cute!! b/c it was as if he didnt want to let go, he was exited and i just wanna know! :) in your opinion does he c me as more than a friends? or just a friend? does he like me? what should i do?
