Friends - January 2007

My friend from childhood lives 300 miles away, visits regularly and pushed herself in to hols with me recently (ok I should have said no) Consider in her heart she is a true friend but drives me crazy and family can't understand why I don't dump her. In her own words member of her own family told her she is 'irritating'. She is absolutely thick skinned and no matter how something spelt out to her she just comes back eg former friends told her they perhaps just didn't want to know or their husbands didn't like her but she would not end friendship, continued phoning etc. She has plenty of family in her own right but seems to want to be part of everyone elses and asks question eg my son-in-law how much he earned. Told her in no uncertain terms where to go but she then said "Just tell me is it more that £45,000? I argue she would tell her business. Gives awful sale gifts, family say insulting. She think ok. Family says dump her should I?

i want to test this friend of mine to see if i can tell her something that i might not want her sister to know. so i was just wondering if any of you can give me an idea that i can do so that i can see if i were to tell her that specific thing, would she tell her sister.
i mean like for example, i tell her that i wanted to find out what her sister thinks of me. what could i do first to see wether she would tell her sister that i asked her that.

I need some advice on what to do. Before I graduated from doing my BA I was absolutely DREADING entering the workforce. I knew that I would'nt like the 9 - 5 job and now that I'm working as an assistant, well, its 9:30 - 5:30. I REALLY hate these hours, it's a real problem, I wake up crying when the alarm goes off. Does anyone have a real advice on how I can continue to endure this? Serious answers appreciated.

I've been in a platonic relationship with a guy friend but it hasn't worked out. He doesn't respect me or my friendship. I asked him if I cause all the problems in the relationship and he said "exactly." I knew this wasn't true and basically said "If you don't want my respect, I can take it elsewhere." just started back college to do a course I want, I'm in my mid 20's but there's a few who are younger and just left school. they pretend to be all sweet but I'm not speaking to one of them now as she nominated me to do work, which I did, then she told me she corrected it. I confided in a tutor as I was a bit annoyed she went behind my back and this other girl who I thought I could trust reported back to the girl what I said. I never even named names to the tutor - I feel stupid for being so trusting- and all I did was do work- for the whole class! I've taken today off because it makes me sick to go in now.

i had a relationship with this guy from one and half year and there was no day we din't talk with each other ... we do have fights but we made up the next day..

but the last fight was different i found him very careless about me.. the way he spoke to me so i din't talk to him for one week waiting for his call and finally i called him back.. he told me that he is planning to get married to someone else his parents arranged for him.. i asked for reason.he first said parents won't agree and after few days i called him back to convence him. he said even his parents agree he is not happy with me and started complaining on me that i am too modern, i have friends and i'm outgoing

its 20 days by now i din't talk to him after that.and everyday 24/7 his thoughts run on my mind.there is no day i din't get tears from my eyes..i am suffering alot coz i got used to him alot..if i think of the word husband he is one who comes in my mind..i miss him like hell.should i call him and talk again??

I told my best friend a partial lie. She's smokeing and she's pregnant, I love her and the baby. I saw Dr.Phil say on a show "we need to get her to stop smokeing she's torchering that baby". When I herd that I really wanted my friend to be aware of what the effect's of her smokeing was to the baby. So the next time I talked to her I started telling her what Dr.Phil said, and I started rambling on about other things I had seen on TV, about what it does to the baby, and basically the part of me seeing the rest on tv was a lie the facts were true I just had red them online. So two day's later I felt guilty because I don't ussually lie and never to her. I told her that I lied I appoligized. She did'nt bring it up agian for 3 weeks, I also asked her not to tell anyone like her fionsay, she's getting married in two months and I was sappose to be her maid of honor. I thought, if you can forgive me then don't tell anyone. So now she's mad and cant forgive me. We have'nt talked in 4 day's.
