I told my best friend a partial lie. She's smokeing and she's pregnant, I love her and the baby. I saw Dr.Phil say on a show "we need to get her to stop smokeing she's torchering that baby". When I herd that I really wanted my friend to be aware of what the effect's of her smokeing was to the baby. So the next time I talked to her I started telling her what Dr.Phil said, and I started rambling on about other things I had seen on TV, about what it does to the baby, and basically the part of me seeing the rest on tv was a lie the facts were true I just had red them online. So two day's later I felt guilty because I don't ussually lie and never to her. I told her that I lied I appoligized. She did'nt bring it up agian for 3 weeks, I also asked her not to tell anyone like her fionsay, she's getting married in two months and I was sappose to be her maid of honor. I thought, if you can forgive me then don't tell anyone. So now she's mad and cant forgive me. We have'nt talked in 4 day's.

I smoked in the beginning of my pregnancy and finally quit when i was 3 and 1/2 months pregnant. It was very difficult. Addiction is hard to break. I had been smoking for YEARS... so I was hooked. I always said that I would quit the moment I found out I was pregnant... but when I found out that I was it took 3 months to actually have my final cigarette. I cut back A LOT and then slowly weaned myself off of them. I know it's terrible and I felt horribly guilty about it... but I was a wreck whenever I kept trying cold-turkey. I'd make it half way through the day and would be in tears and WILDLY moody/sick. I wish I would have never smoked, but at least I gave it up. I had a few people make comments to me about quitting smoking ... which made me feel bad. Obviously I know that they just had the best interests of my baby at heart... so I put up with it. Perhaps she'll just need a little while to get over it. One thing though... do you smoke? If you smoke and you're preaching to her... it is pointless.

You did nothing wrong. Somebody had to say something. The poor little baby can't speak for herself, and she is hurting the baby by smoking. Your friend will eventually come to realize that you meant her no harm. She's probably more upset by what she's hearing because she's in denial. Smoking is such a bad habit. In some ways the addiction is worse than drugs. If she doesn't come around, then there's nothing you can do. You did the right thing.

okay first of all, there's this thing called spell check, use it
torturing* fiance* suppose*
sorry but bad spelling, irks me.
about your situation, i think you were right in what you did, smoking could really hurt her unborn baby, and even after the birth of the child she still shouldn't smoke around him/her
your friend probably thinks you are trying to tell her 1 how to live and 2 how to be a mom- pregnant women hate that
since shes pregnant her emotions are running HIGH, call her in a few days and try to talk to her
best advice i could give

Get her to stop smoking no matter what. She cannot be smoking when she is pregnant. If she really loved her baby and herself for that matter she would not get mad a t you for telling her the facts.

If she's pregnant and she's still smoking she's probably not very happy about it and feeling pretty defencive. Try to have some empathy (look it up) and learn to spell.

you can tell her what you saw on tv, but ultimitly its her choice. Pressuring someone to do something is wrong, and you probably made her feel like crap about herself. A real apology would probably be your best bet at this point.
