Parents just wish the best for their children. I don't know if I understand the soulmate thing, but a nice man or woman for their child is all they real hope for. Seeing a relationship from an adult perspective is difficult to grasp. But as time goes on we mature and start to get the picture--the definition of love, and what a meaningful relationship is supposed to be about. Parents were young at one time---I think they forget that fact. Please be respectful and allow them some input, itwill save a lot of hard feelings

Because they want you to have better things than they did growing up. They don't want you to get hurt so if they try to find you your soulmate then they can rest at night knowing that your safe out of arms way. good luck thats parents for ya and you'll see that when or if you have kids.

Simply put, parents just want the best for their kids. I would think having their soulmate would be the best thing for anybody.

It is just in a parent's nature to want the best for their children. They have had many more life experiences and have acquired more knowledge than you think. You will find out the older you get, the "smarter" your parents get.
