If Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain, Janis Joplin, and Jim Morrison had not died at age 27, what would music be like today?

i can't be with you. Or I'm letting you go. More a "I'm going to let you go and let you find someone else." song.

Help would be appreaciated. I don't want anything that sounds old or is sung by old people lol.

Sort of modern, a cute song, and preferably rock (any kind of rock) not country.

I love pretty much everything they did, including their more obscure 1st two albums originally released on the 'Immediate' label.
Though I still have a problem with some of their more R&B gospel sounding material done with ' The Blackberries'. That's when I lost interest.
What were your favorite Humble Pie moments?

My favorite album would be 'Rock On'.

For me, it happened at a Slayer show in Jan. 1995 at the Shrine Auditorium in LA. I noticed a group of Suicidals (hispanic street gang) lining up outside the pit. Even though I wanted to slam so bad, my street sense told me to sit it out. Low and behold, one guy (probably a teenager) was doing his thing in the pit and inadverently elbowed one of the Suicidals. All of a sudden I see about ten gang members jumping him. But it gets worse; one of the gang pulls out a knife and starts stabbing the $hit out of this poor guy. Eventually security got a handle of the situation and the show kept going, but the festive mood got f**ked up.

AM radio top 40 stations which lumped pop, soul, and motown with rock. FM radio was mainly classical music with a few "underground" (college) rock stations. TV shows American Bandstand, Ed Sullivan, Hullabaloo, Shindig. Couple of music magazines whose names escape me, and that's about all I can remember!
How else did we listen to and/or get information on all those great bands back then? Or did we have to wait til years later?

I've heard this said on and off of Answers, but quite a few people assume that some musicians got into music because it's the only job they are capable of doing.

Can you think of any musicians who discredit this theory?

the band was playing in a lonely, deserted like place. post-destruction like. trees with no leaves. I think there was a stream or some water. colors were grey, red, brown. I guess there were 4 people in the band. The singer had short hair and was dressed with a tight jacket up to waist (with shoulder pads!) with tight pants - grey, brown. The song was melodic and romantic.

I live in a very liberal state, and the radio here sucks. I love metallica, and AC/DC but not 20 times in a day. There are a lot really good songs that dont make it to the radio because of Corp. america. I also think alot of good bands become one hit wonders becasue of that fact. When a song comes out it just gets absolutely hammered with air time and instead of making me wanna buy it, i wanna turn the station but even that doesn't help...same damn thing on the next station. Thoughts ? oopinions? and yes i know the "if you dont like dont listen to it" ideals but im kinda screwed with only one rock station
