I love pretty much everything they did, including their more obscure 1st two albums originally released on the 'Immediate' label.
Though I still have a problem with some of their more R&B gospel sounding material done with ' The Blackberries'. That's when I lost interest.
What were your favorite Humble Pie moments?

My favorite album would be 'Rock On'.

Yes, I think 'Rockin the Fillmore' would be a close second for me. Something about the diversity of style represented on the 'Rock On' album seemed to really impress me.
Those couple Humble Pie albums (self titled, and Rock On) really do need to be re-mastered for CD. The Japanese A&M reissues CD's that came out in the early 90's just didn't seem to do those recordings justice.
Here's a cool video, but I think it's Dave Clempson on lead guitar at this point, and not Peter Frampton:

"Stone Cold Fever" would be one of my favourites...now that's Rock and Roll. Marriott's voice sounds slightly strained at times, but he pulls it off somehow.(What a talent that guy had...and to die the way he did is just such a waste.) "Live With Me" is another excellent tune, and one of my favourite slow and soulful type songs. The best for me though would be "Wrist Job" (The B-side of "Natural Born Woman"). It was availiable on a CD version of "As Safe As Yesterday Is", but not any more it seems..and it was originally a Small Faces number called "The Pig Trotters" (I think..) which you can find on a compilation called "The Darlings Of Wapping Wharf Laundrette"

I always thought they were best live, which is why I love the "Performance: Rockin' the Fillmore" album. "I Don't Need No Doctor" is my favorite song, but their cover of "I Walk on Gilded Splinters" still gives me goosebumps.

It's funny, I don't especially like Peter Frampton's solo albums, but I thought the band ran out of energy once he left. IMHO "Eat It" was the end of the Pie.

I think my favorite is probably "Live at the Fillmore". I have to say that "Rock On"is a great album. "Smokin'" is the one that most people remember. One of my fave tunes is "Four Day Creep". I also love "I Walk on Gilded Splinters"

I'm partial to live recordings over studio albums.
I love the whole "Rockin the Fillmore" album, especially "I'm Ready" and "Rolling Stone"
I prefer the albums with Frampton.
FYI - Town & Country was re-released last month with bonus tracks! (haven't seen it yet)
