Mine is Talib Kweli's "The Beautiful Struggle", I'm always reminded of it when me or my family is going through things. It's like, things might be hard right now, but later on down the line those same things will make us stronger and shape us into who we are today... so it might be a struggle, but it's a "Beautiful Struggle"

This is the kind of junk I'm talking about. Too many of these rappers out right now are speaking without a purpose. I think we all know 50cent "gets money". It goes without saying, I mean he is a multi-million dollar recording artists with endorsements and water bottles. Whats the purpose? Somebody please explain this to me, because I really don't understand.

Window Shopper

I've never really been into Southern rap, but I'm trying to get into it. Can anybody give me some artists? I already know about the T.I.'s and the Lil Wayne's and the Soulja Boy's so they can go without being mentioned. I'm looking for rappers with a purpose in their music. Thanks.

It seems to me women who are anti-hip-hop and rap because of some rappers that ""degrade"" women by calling some of them BlTCHES and H0ES, need to start by not calling each other BlTCHES and H0ES, those women need to stop degrading each other if they want anyone else to stop.

I listen to Big Daddy Kane, Prodigy, Aceyalone, and Hurricane Chris.

I'm pretty sure I'm the only person on here who likes both Rakim and 50 cent. Correct me if i'm wrong?

O yeah and **** your evil conscience. The guy thinks Hypnotize and How do u want it are filler tracks he's worse than the kids who think Soulja boy is the best.

Is Hip Hop culture to blame for Eagles coach Andy reid's son's problem's Sports journalist said on Around the horn on friday that "hip hop" culture is responsible for Andy Reids sons drug use and criminal activity, do you think J.a. adande is correct or is he way off?. I think america is trying to blame anything but themselves for their problems, i agree HipHop has some negative issues but hip hop is ot responsible for societies ill's, the problem with andy reids kids and our society are created by our own bad decisions, to say hip hop is responsible is not excepting responsiblity for your own actions. Talib kweli , Mos def , kanye west, little brother, ludacris, krs one, rakim, common are a part of hip hop so is j.a. adande saying they are responsible for Andy reids childrens decisions. J.a. adande man up and place the blame where it belongs at the feet of the people who are responsible for themselves.

I really like the theme park sound and all the little things that helped compose it. What do you all think?

Drop a couple of quotes from a hip hop artist that you believe speaks volumes...you can take it from a song (dont copy and paste an entire song, just the line your referring to), an interview, anything along those lines..

i'll start wit a couple

"Motherf*ckers -
say that I'm foolish I only talk about jewels
Do you fools listen to music or do you just skim through it"-Jay'z "Takeover"...
the last line was the key point, i think with him as well as alot of other artists, people just "skim" through the music.

next one, i found this funny but true

"When you look at Jadakiss and all of them, D-Block and all of them, it’s the same thing with them. They was rapping next to one of the greatest rappers alive, Biggie Smalls.. And what have they accomplished from doing that? They’re not 30 million albums sold. They haven’t sold any records, they’re doing deals with independents"- Tony Yayo (shouldnt be talkin right?) on Jadakiss

being the rapper or the producer?

I say producer..I'm a lot better at rappin that producing...(as in I have no skill at producing) (not like I'm talented at rappin either, but whatever) I've spent a month+ on FL7 and come out with one piece of 45 second crap...it sucks

BTW, I'm retired from producing, but I tossed up my one (and only) beat up in the files section for the group..(warning, it sucks--bad)
