Drop a couple of quotes from a hip hop artist that you believe speaks volumes...you can take it from a song (dont copy and paste an entire song, just the line your referring to), an interview, anything along those lines..

i'll start wit a couple

"Motherf*ckers -
say that I'm foolish I only talk about jewels
Do you fools listen to music or do you just skim through it"-Jay'z "Takeover"...
the last line was the key point, i think with him as well as alot of other artists, people just "skim" through the music.

next one, i found this funny but true

"When you look at Jadakiss and all of them, D-Block and all of them, it’s the same thing with them. They was rapping next to one of the greatest rappers alive, Biggie Smalls.. And what have they accomplished from doing that? They’re not 30 million albums sold. They haven’t sold any records, they’re doing deals with independents"- Tony Yayo (shouldnt be talkin right?) on Jadakiss

"Rarely y'all come in contact with the real
Since Pun passed he was the last shine of sun I could feel" - Nas
like that one because Big Pun doesnt get the call outs he deserves from other rappers

I'll suffocate for the respect, before I'll breath to collect a f*ckin
check.
Eminem

Thats one of my favorites, ill try to think of some more, im drawing a blank at the moment.

My first album had no famous guest appereances, the outcome, im crowned the best lyricists.
Nas

Good call on that Pac quote, thats still fricken revalent, As the Game would say "Pac's gone, and Brenda's still throwing babies in the garbage."

Matter of fact thats another of my fav. quotes:
Thinkin how they spend 30 million dollars on airplanes
When there's kids starvin
Pac is gone and Brendas still throwin babies in the garbage
I wanna know what's goin on like i hear Marvin
No school books they use that wood to build coffins.
The Game

I also would say 2nd Childhood by Nas, that is my favorite song of all time, and every lyric is quoteable and deep.

Its a biggie quote, can't remember it exactly but he said something like 'I realised how powerful pac was, he's a strong guy, we waged a coastal beef and even though we were going through our drama i would never never wish death on nobody coz there ain't no coming back from that'..i thought it was a humble thing to say.

Yea, lol that was from Renegade not Takeover...

but a powerful quote? i'd say "everybody sound the same, commercialized the game, reminiscin when it wasn't all business" (nas, hip hop is dead)

just cause of how true it is.....

"reach for the stars so if you fall you land on a cloud" Kanye west .... This isn't the most powerful quote i've heard but it's on that comes to mind....

"You see if you ever wanted to ever be anything there'd always be somebody that would shoot down any dream there'll always be haters thats the way it is .... Hating N***** marry hater B**** and have hater kids".....kanye West /Bring me down/Late Registration
