Tough call, but i have to say It was written, because it was clever word play and a tiny bit better lyrics than stillmatic, but there both really on par with each other.
Both classics.

Stillmatic, but I am biased. My parents wouldnt let me listen to rap when I was younger, so I had to have my friend burn me cds and I had to hide them. I listened to that cd every day for about 2 years, along with Ludacris - Word of Mouth, Eminem Show, and Dr. Dre - 2001. So lets just say I am quite fond of Stillmatic.

I say Stillmatic.

First it was a great album, as was It Was Written. With It Was Written though, everyone knew it should be dope, as it was the follow-up to one of if not the greatest album of all time. Before Stillmatic, Nas had fallen off his game (Nastradamus). Stillmatic really put Nas back on the map.

Stillmatic. But its close. Stillmatic had ether, one mic and rewind, which are three of the best hip hop songs ever. The same can be said of it was written but it had way too much filler, stillmatic was consistent throughout.

Stillmatic.

It just had a more cohesive sound. Also, I felt ITW was trying to do what other rappers were doing at the time. and I dont play that.
