Hi!
I want as a present for my girlfriend to make a compilation of songs with her name-Maria(and of course the variations-Merry, Marie, .... in any language).
Can anyone help me.
At the moment her favorite band is the alternative rock band Muse.
Any suggestions?
I searched mp3.com and it returned thousands of songs and no way of listening to them.
The first on the list will probably be Maria by Green Day.
An audio cd has under 20 songs.
Please help me.

Although it sounds a little as though he is singing "Me Monkey", it's a beautiful sounding song never the less (well it is when he sings it anyway), but I really don't know what he is actually singing about, so I am wondering:-

Firstly, I can't seem to find the word 'Manchi' in my Italian dictionary, so are there any Italians or Italian speakers out there who can translate the title into English?

Secondly, whilst I can only imagine that it is a romantic song, he could be singing about emptying the dustbins for all I know, so does anyone please know what the song is actually about, and is it possible to translate the lyrics into English?

It isn't important that the English lyrics fit the music. I would just like to know what story the song tells.

Many people hold the opinion that shows like Pop Idol, X-Factor etc. are "ruining music".
What if instead of Pop Idol/American Idol etc, there was a Rock Idol? Do you think true musicians would be made/discovered, or would it just be pop idol with guitars?

Your views...

I appreciate & love his music. He has a way of crafting songs that EVERYONE feels like that "get" & that is a gift. But let's face it the guy was totally selfish. He treated the media like shi*t & always had this attitude like he was better then everyone else. If you have time scan this article: http://accelerateddecrepitude.blogspot.com/2005/12/10-sins-of-bob-dylan.html
To those who "love Bob"... Why?

My friend James just posted this Slate article about Y!A in his 360 blast, and I had to share it:

http://www.slate.com/id/2179393/pagenum/all/

To paraphrase a bit of it for this question, it states that almost 120 million users come this site for its specified purpose (to ask and/or answer questions), but it is also widely used as a research tool - a place where students (and others) are sourcing for information on just about everything.

Since I spend the majority of my Answers-time here in R&P, I'm asking this question with a bend toward the musical. If you needed to know factual information about something music-related, would you do your research here? If not, where would you go?

The signs are all there. This “glorious” period of rock will mercifully come to end soon, erupting in a tidal wave of inventory for whatever used CDs stores remain in business. So, what will be the next new trend? Will it be totally brand new (doubtful) or another recycling of the past? We tried swing and the whole Daddy-O thing in the 90’s but it faded fast. I think it’s going to be the barbershop quartet. Because nothing says passion quite like four dudes with candy-cane suits and handlebar moustaches singing a cappella. Plus, I could see a natural gravitation to this new craze by the former emo generation. Barbers always have plenty of sharp instruments on premise.

I hear people like Lennon and Dylan and it almost makes me weep cuz I don't think theres anyone around today with a vision for world change using their art to motivate and educate. I would like to think punk could do something, but we spend too damn long arguing with one another.

What if a huge star pulled a Lennon and started writing songs about social consciousness and political reform? What would you think?

I can tell you that I draw inspiration from just about everywhere.

- This morning I drew inspiration from bad morning radio.
- Lately the errands I have been running at lunchtime have been inspiring. I think it's a combination of what I hear when wandering around Target aimlessly and the emotion that stems from little old women bumping into me at the grocery store (and not apologizing).
- Most of all, it comes from you (and that's you, collectively). Quite a bit of the questions and answers I see on here get me thinking!

How about you? Is there anything in particular that helps create what you post?

For Me it's gotta be Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey by Paul McCartney, that song is goofier than a pet racoon on thorazine.
But I really enjoy it
How about you, got any silly songs You can't get enough of?

if we drop this MCR feud. lets try to stop bashing the band so the fans won't attack you either. both sides are getting tired of it. the haters are tired of the fans and the fans are tired of your ignorance and bashing. and come on there are other bands. lets just leave MCR alone. stop with the questions. MCR sucks, why do you hate mcr, their a band. give them respect. so what do we say we move on and just ask real questions of music. not tryint to bash each other.

I have a lot of friends and contacts up in this neck of the deep dark Yahoo Woods but I am actually a pretty big fan of the sport of Wrestling and most wrestlers have a "Gimmick" which is basically the character they portray
So I was wondering, who do You think has the best "Gimmick" In Yahoo Rock And Pop?
Rockets Type O thing?
Bowzer's "Dog" gig?
Smiley's "George Hamilton" schtick?
My "Album Cover Of The Week" Rountine
(just a few examples)
Or someone else's gimmick?
