I wanna do a survey about you favorite rock bands. What's your age (you don't have to answer that if you don't want to)? What's your favorite rock band? Your favorite song by them and your favorite member of the band. My favorite band of all time is the Beatles. I think they're the best ever. My favorite song by them is Michelle and my favorite memeber is Paul McCartney.

Christopher Cross had the big hit 'Ride Like The Wind', and 'Doobie
Brother' Michael McDonald sang background vocals on that hit.
I still get a kick out of this hilarious spoof from SCTV. Rick Moranis
plays Michael McDonald (and Jerry Todd):

These I know, who am I missing. Louie Armstrong invented the jazz solo. Lester Young set the early standard for sax tone. Charlie Parker changed the timing of Jazz to allow much greater expressive qualities. Basie and Ellington, brought Jazz to the masses among other things. Charlie Christian defined Jazz guitar. Coltraine reached a new horizon. Miles Davis for so many reasons.

How about piano greats, I am not up on that, was Art Tatum the first to use classical moves in Jazz. I will be unable to pick a best answer so will leave it up to the community. Thank you all.

I personally am a rock fa, have been all my life. I like some rap music, the stuff that actually shows a form of feeling and expression. I can't stand music like "This is Why I'm Hot" and "Party Like a Rockstar." Most rap thats on the radio today is so commercialized in my mind its terrible. They seem to only want to make some money. I can't stand people who ask me why I don't like rap like this. It doesn't make any sense and its all just so bland and hard to listen to. There are so many great bands that go unnoticed because they do something different rather than talk about drugs or about being pimps or such...your thoughts? please state your opinion, I'm not going to pick an answer just because I like it, please give me your thoughts.

Okay. I'm looking for a good rock band with a female singer.
Preferably something similar to Flyleaf.
I already know Paramore, Fireflight, and Evanescence.
I'm looking for more rocker chicks out there though.
But as you can see, that's the kind of music that I like. It doesn't have to be Christian rock like Flyleaf or Fireflight. Just something similar to the bands mentioned above.
Please give me your suggestions!
Thanks!

Here's the thing.. I've got a lot of good music on my player but I need NEW good music.

Something about me.. I HATE listening to old pop music like "Build Me Up Butter Cup" or whatever. It annoys the sh*t out of me, I have no idea why but it does. Old Old Old rock and roll music is great (Pink Floyd, The Beatles; I have a few songs by them) but I just can't listen to them all the time.. it gets on my nerves! The oldest music I can put up with is '90s music. I also hate modern POP music (most stuff on MTV, not all).

I like new music. Fun stuff. Stuff you can dance to, but also has meaningful lyrics and not produced stuff just to make you buy it.

I like mostly rock and alternative music. I want to check out punk and metal, but still listen to NEW rock and alternative albums.

Anyone have any suggestions of artists I should check out?

P.S. Don't suggest a "screamo" or band, I can hardly bare that music let alone sit down and listen to it.

My friend got some free tickets. Ive never been to a concert like this before where its just a crowd of people outside.

What is a mosh pit like.

Is there a good chance of getting pick pocketed.

Will I get hurt.

My friends said that there were tons of hot girls at warped tour, But I wouldent think that the kind of girls I would be into (The kind of girls at warped tour into the punk emo alt-rock scene) I don't think girls like that would be at Ozzfest,

Im Picturing crazy whores with 18 face studs and Mohawks and crazy hair dye, and over like 25, and always doing drugs. Im only 18 and I don't like that.

Hey my band and I want to play the song Help! from The Beatles, and I know the acoustic rhythm parts and the drum parts, but we need to know what the lead guitar part is for that song (the part that George plays for you who don't know). Can anyone give me a perfect tab of the lead guitar, it could be off the internet, but I would appreciate it if you know a better way that you would give me your version.

Well there's this song and it goes "There's creepy little house in this creepy little place, in this creepy little town in a creepy little world. With this creepy little girl with this creepy little face, saying something funny you've never heard about. Are you brave enough to figure out?" -that's all i know, but the chorus goes- "Feel it, breathe it, believe it, and you'll be walking on air. Go drive go fly so high and you'll be walking on air.

so could anyone help?

I love them, from the original band to their later incarnations. I'm the only guy that I know of that is lucky to have even heard of them, let alone have all their albums.

Terrific music, fantastic vocal harmonies, great keyboards and lead guitar work. I personally think much underrated. I mean, they were good enough for Ozzy Osbourne's rhythm section (bass/drums) at the outset of his solo career, (although now for some sort of legal/royalty dispute, Ozzy has overdubbed the rhythm section on those original albums with other musos).

What do others think of this band?
