Here's the thing.. I've got a lot of good music on my player but I need NEW good music.

Something about me.. I HATE listening to old pop music like "Build Me Up Butter Cup" or whatever. It annoys the sh*t out of me, I have no idea why but it does. Old Old Old rock and roll music is great (Pink Floyd, The Beatles; I have a few songs by them) but I just can't listen to them all the time.. it gets on my nerves! The oldest music I can put up with is '90s music. I also hate modern POP music (most stuff on MTV, not all).

I like new music. Fun stuff. Stuff you can dance to, but also has meaningful lyrics and not produced stuff just to make you buy it.

I like mostly rock and alternative music. I want to check out punk and metal, but still listen to NEW rock and alternative albums.

Anyone have any suggestions of artists I should check out?

P.S. Don't suggest a "screamo" or band, I can hardly bare that music let alone sit down and listen to it.

How bout....
Nickelback- All the right reasons -Post Grunge/Alternative
"If Everyone Cared'

From underneath the trees, we watch the sky
Confusing stars for satellites
I never dreamed that you'd be mine
But here we are, we're here tonight

Singing Amen, I, I'm alive
Singing Amen, I, I'm alive

[Chorus:]
If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died

And I'm singing

Amen I, Amen I, I'm alive
Amen I, Amen I, Amen I, I'm alive

And in the air the fireflies
Our only light in paradise
We'll show the world they were wrong
And teach them all to sing along

Singing Amen, I, I'm alive
Singing Amen, I, I'm alive
(I'm alive)

[Chorus x2]

And as we lie beneath the stars
We realize how small we are
If they could love like you and me
Imagine what the world could be

If everyone cared and nobody cried
If everyone loved and nobody lied
If everyone shared and swallowed their pride
Then we'd see the day when nobody died
When nobody died...

[Chorus]

We'd see the day, we'd see the day
When nobody died
We'd see the day, we'd see the day
When nobody died
We'd see the day when nobody died

Everything Changes

If you just walked away what could I really say? Wouldn't matter anyway. Would it change how you feel?
I'm the mess you choose the profit you can not close, never let you I suppose because the rooms never
here.

But everything changes if I could take back the years if you could learn to forgive me then I could learn
to feel,

Sometimes the things I say bothered some ?? so coming to the games we play to make sure that its real.

When it's just me and you. Who knows what we could do. If we can just make it through and take this blood
off of me.

Stay here together and we could conquer the world if we could say that forever is more than just a word.

If you walked away what I could really say? Wouldn't matter anyway. It wouldn't change how you feel.

Killswitch Engage-As Daylight Dies-My curse is one of my fav. songs very meaningful 2 versions btw one is kinda screaming but the other one isn't there not a scremo band there a true metal band-Metal here a lyric

I watched you walk away
Helpless, with nothing to say
I strain my eyes
Hoping to see you again

This is my curse (the longing)
This is my curse (time)
This is my curse (the yearning)
This is my curse

There is love burning to find you
Will you wait for me?
Will you be there?

Your silence haunts me
But still I hunger for you

This is my curse (the wanting)
This is my curse (time)
This is my curse (the needing)
This is my curse

There is love burning to find you
Will you wait for me?

Still I want
And still I ache
But still I wait
To see you again

Dying, inside, these walls (2x)

And I see your face in these tears? In these tears
And I see your face...

There is love (8x)

So, you want some newer albums? Here are some, dancable and alternative: try Writer's Block by Peter, Bjorn and John; Live in New Jersey by Pete Yorn; Elevator by Hot Hot Heat; Oh No by OK Go; Vertigo by Jump, Little Children; Get Born by Jet.

If you ever do want to get more music that is older, check out The Smiths, MC5, and Jefferson Airplane.

I'M WITH YA!

I am in dire need to go on a CD hunt too, but here's a few from my most recent music raid. Also, run to your nearest Hot Topic and ask if they have any of their Spring Indie Sampler 07 cds left. Very good stuff, and although I wish I had more to offer, happy hunting!

Flyleaf - Flyleaf
Madina Lake - From Them, Throught Us, To You
Swizzle Tree - Here We Are
Hawthorne Heights (just putting it down anyway, you've probably heard already though) - If Only You Were Lonely
Saosin - Saosin
Shiny Toy Guns - We Are Pilots
Aiden - Rain In Hell
Chevelle - Vena Sera
Mindless Self Indulgence - You'll Rebel To Anything
Paramore - Riot!

JAMES BROWN:
get him, love him, it all began with JB---the more you listen, the more you understand--and his life, career and ideas are 100 times greater than even his music. He's also different than other artists--he does many different versions of his songs, and each one is fantastic:

"James Brown Live at the Apollo Volume 2" (recorded June 1967) - 2 disc set, 2001.
"Revolution of the Mind" -1971
"In the Jungle Groove" -1986, 2003
"James Brown-Live Top Ten" -2003
"Sex Machine" -1970
"Greatest Hits" - 1997
"James Brown-foundations of funk-a brand new bag 1964-1969" - 2 disc set,1996

try mandy moore. she's got a new album out now. marie digby is a new artist that i've heard of. she does cover songs but she has a few of her own and is really good. there's a local band that i love called antaphi. (www.antaphi.com) they have a hard rock sound kinda like nickelback. if you want music to dance to check out the BBC music charts. the UK always has some great pop music that you can dance to.
