Aren't you amazed at how many kids don't want to accept the fact that it takes HARD WORK to become professional singers! It's like they look at you or even sometimes respond in disbelief when you give the reality of the business. They only see the glamour. It takes training, hustle, determination, constant practice, disappointments, struggle, times where you want to give up but you don't, sacrifice (a big one), and love for the art. I knew it took work to become a professional singer before I started this journey, which is why I contemplated for a while if this is what I REALLY wanted to do. Now many at that age don't even think about it. They think it's just luck. I had one student a couple of years ago in another state come in for a lesson talking about "I wanna be the next Britney Spears." I was like WHY! What is the point? This same student didn't even practice in the end. Some of these kids want advice, but don't practice. Do they really think it has been an easy road for us?

Hey guys this is the tournament I was trying to help get seedings for, it continues on the radio at 4:00. So, thanks to everyone who help me have bands qualify for the tournament. In order to thank you further I'll let all of you vote for the tournament, they'll be one matchup a day going from 4:00 to 8:30 on the radio. I won't be here throughout the day, but I'll make sure someone checks this for you guys. The matchup below is the next matchup

10) Ozzy Osbourne

vs.

23) U2

Just tell me which one of those two you vote for and I'll be sure to put it in the system. Once again, thanks for all your help guys!

Tomorrow's matchup: 3) Rolling Stones vs. 30) Boston (Please don't vote for this matchup this is just a heads up for all of you)

Yesterday's result: 7) Metallica defeated 26) Nirvana and will face the winner of today's matchup in the sweet sixteen

I dreamed I was missing, you were so scared
But no one would listen, cause no one else care
After my dreaming I woke with this fear
What am I leaving when I'm done here

So if you're asking me then I want you to know

When my time comes forget the wrong that I've done
Help me leave behind some reasons to be missed
Don't resent me, and when you're feeling empty
Keep me in your memory, leave out all the rest
Leave out all the rest

Don't be afraid of taking my beating, I've shared what I made
I'm strong on the surface, not all the way through
I've never been perfect, but neither have you

I've listened to this song a few times over now. It makes me think of what I've done to change the world...

What lyrics touched you in a deep place?

(Along with flying to Ontario to see Tool in June) I'm also flying out to Marysville, CA to see Placebo in concert on July 7th. But Placebo hardly ever plays in the U.S. On the other hand, I fly out of the country two or three times a month to a concert. Does anyone else do this?
