Music - 14 February 2007

I had recently picked up a guitar in the summer. Im 11 years old. Im not bad at it, i dont know why, but i have a thing for computers and music, so i taught myself how to play guitar, but i think i have started some bad habits. I while ago, i was having problems with alternate picking so i tried to find a way that worked for me and it ended up with me holding the pick with my pointer AND middle finger. I have never seen anyone else ever do that, and i am wondering if i should start over learning guitar with holding the pick, 1 fingered. I am really trying to learn canon rock, but right now im having some stop in my guitar learning. Im not getting anywhere anymore, i Cant get past this part in my lead guitar book. Should i get a music teacher, switch to 1 fingered pick holding, or is this a natural phase in guitar learning and it has nothing to do with me holding the pick that way and it is perfectly normal. And also could someone list other bad habits i may be doing? please help me.

I know I am not the only one but it seems like its hard to find good music. Most of the time a band or artist will have a good album and then just disappear or the next album they come out with will be garbage. I miss the true days of hip hop when tupac and biggie were alive, i love 80s rock especially Metallica and Ozzy, I love Pink Floyd and AC/DC too. Now days no one can sing they are just pretty and go in the studio with a microphone that has filter and makes them sound good . No one can rap anymore they get a nice beat to distract you from their bad rapping and the rock bands today are okay. There are some good artists today but just generally speaking I think music now is kinda of lame. I think its time for underground and independent artist to take over since they seem to be the only ones making good music consistently.
