i broke the 4th/d string and i dont have any backups for it, so i was gonna put a 3rd/g string on it and tune it to d....will this work? it's only until i can get a new string, cuz this is really driving me crazy (having a broken string with no spares)

and I really do not know the lyrics but it is a male singer and part of the lyrics are "tell me ------ and something about the milkey way and it also goes la la la la la la la la la.
