I like bands like fall out boy, panic! at the disco, three days grace, jacks mannequin, and gym clas heroes. are those first three ones emo cause one of my friends accused me of it last week and its been bothering me. (note: i dont wear black and im not depressed or anything and i have good grades)

one no they're not...if you want Emo music check out "The get up kids" they're pretty good. and Two. who cares what your friends think... and three Emo is really about the music...not the stupid stereotypes...why do people insist on making a "subculture" of whiny teens who can't get over a break up...emo isn't really too much more than music..which can actually be good...so don't worry about what people say and do what you love...and maybe learn something new... even if they are emo..liking emo music doesn't make you "emo"
emo music can be good..."emo kids" need to get a life....sorry but that's how I feel honestly anyone who labels themselves and only live within the lines of that label needs to get a life
emo isn't short for emotion either...it's emotive hardcore...do some research it has a long history..real emo music pretty much died out in the late 90's

Labels suck. I'm sorry, they do. They are hurtful. Beyond that even, they are not universally agreed upon.
Yes, to those in the mainstream, the first three bands might be considered "emo". However, to those who consider themselves to be emo, the bands would be too "mainstream". Do you see the flaw in logic? It all depends on your vantage point. A better question would be, do you consider them emo? And an even better question yet would be, why do you care? If you like them, listen to them. If your friends annoy you, tell them off.
(And okay can I just add one thing? The emo stereotype does NOT include not getting good grades.)

Emo is whatever you make of it. Most people make fun of it. People lable stuff because they love to hate. Screw what your friends call you. You should like your own music and not care what people say. So depending on who your asking you will get a yes or no to whether they are emo or not. In my oppinion they are awsome and thats all that matters.

I listen to all those bands, and they are not emo. When others make fun of whatever you're into, it's only because they're jealous that you have the guts to show the world what you like and aren't one of those idiots who pretend to like pop or rap to fit in with the cliques and the groups. Trust me, those are some f***ing AWESOME bands. You should listen to AFI, I think you'll like them.

Don't Let them get to you...and just to help panic has rejected the label emo...fob doesnt think ther emo (COZ THER NOT!) but they dont care wat ppl label them....and freaking gym class heroes is so so nottt emo....jeez...emo is a fashion statement and a music thing not a type of person....and emo music is stuff that's definitely not mainstream...

i wouldnt consider them complete emo in my opinion..all music expresses emotion so they may be emo in that aspect but their sound is not emo as compared to other bands...whatever dont go for labels

first of all u rock!!! i love all of them!!! i also like my chemical romance, 30 seconds to mars and afi. i don't know if u like them or not...
yes they're emo but that doesn't mean that just because u like them ur emo. non-emo people can like emo music too.
