I had a friend of mine order 3 cds from his ebay account to help me replace library copies that were stolen from me. the first one came in exellent condition, the 2nd one came in all scratched up although the owner claimed it was "like new" and the 2nd one hasn't come in yet but I am anticipating its arrival today. The library will not take the scratched cd under any circumstances so I will most likely have to replace it. I can't go back and complain to the owner because it isn't my account and the librarian handling my case put a deadline for me to have the cds in.

My taste on jazz: Take 5, stuff with catchy beats.

Classical: Dvorak, Bach, etc. I like powerful riveting classical music.

Any suggestions?

As a child I remember some classical music featured in uk tv adverts - like the 'Old Spice' (after shave) adverts with Carl Orff's O Fortuna from Carmina Burana; Largo from New World Symphony by Dvorak. And only later found out that they were established classics.

What others can you come up with?

...just gives you some strange feeling all over your body? Like goose pimpels, but not quite it? A pleasent feeling? And you especially feel so nice when the singer sings some real high tones or some beautifully low, when he/she sings the "heyday" of the song, the main melody, but a little bit changed? What song makes you feel like that? Do you have some memories attached to it?

The lyrics go like this.
"Feeling down when the autumn has come, sormy days and the leaves keep on falling, I don't like the town when the autumn has come, clouds are grey and there is fog outside
Next
Feeling down when the winter has come, frozen feet and the snowflakes are falling, I don't like the town when the winter has come, dirty streets and it's cold outside"

Steely Dan (Fagan & Becker) is one of my favorite bands. I've listened to them since their first album and must credit their music for my skills on guitar. I would love to listen to other INTELLIGENTLY written music in the same vein - not tribute music but stuff that shows the same interesting chord structures/progressions, great horns and superfine lyrics.

If you know of such music, please tell me band names so I can buy thier CDs.

BETTER yet... if you have a band that aspires to this kind of intelligent music in the Ottawa area and are looking for a guitarist with strong vocals, let me know!
