I had a friend of mine order 3 cds from his ebay account to help me replace library copies that were stolen from me. the first one came in exellent condition, the 2nd one came in all scratched up although the owner claimed it was "like new" and the 2nd one hasn't come in yet but I am anticipating its arrival today. The library will not take the scratched cd under any circumstances so I will most likely have to replace it. I can't go back and complain to the owner because it isn't my account and the librarian handling my case put a deadline for me to have the cds in.

Try all the local stores that cell used CDs. They should all be listed in the phone book or online under "used records" as most carry LPs (those large old ones) also.

If you were screwed over on eBay, contact eBay itself and report the situation. They can help, starting with listing the seller as a "problem" vendor.

Amazon is a good idea. Make sure you get a used CD, which is way cheaper. Yahoo also has online auctions you can check into.

If all else fails and you just plain can't find the one CD you need to replace, talk to librarian again, and ask if you can just pay a fine for it. It's the same amount of money but at least you won't have to do all that running around...

I feel for you! You got stolen from, lied to, and now are being harrassed by the library for something that wasn't your fault. What a nightmare. Just remember you are not to blame, do the best you can, and remember that you have options.

Also, look for another library!

Yes, if you want edited cd's for cheap, go to Wal Mart. Theyre like 13.99. Or you can go to Best Buy, most of the time if the cds didnt just come out theyll be about 12 to 14 dollars.

I get decent second hand ones from market stalls, car boot sales and jumble sales. The most recent one I bought was "The very best of Kirsty McColl" for a mere £2.00 the seller claimed it was only played only the once.I beleived him.Great CD though.

Kmart has discounted cds. I got the new Dixie Chicks cd there for $9.99 a week after it came out.

I've found wal-mart to have the most decent priced cds, unless you are looking for 'unedited', a.k.a. parental advisory cds. Then you have to go somewhere else.

you should actually try your local pawn shop.

there are plenty of people who go broke and need to sell things to make money. sometimes they sell their cd's and dvd's. most of the time they are in like-new condition. they wont be wrapped in the plastic, but they will probably be in great condition.

www.amazon.com for just plain low prices, or www.bmgmusicservice.com for even lower prices but you will have to join the club and commit to spending more money.
