Movies - 10 October 2007

I think there are both successful and failed attempts at adapting books (especially classics) into movies. Take The Lord of The Rings for example and To Kill a Mockingbird. Two movies, i feel, that do justice to the original stories. However i must say I'm fairly disappointed in The Chronicles of Narnia and Harry Potter.
Also, how DOES a movie do justice to the original book? Is it just by raking in millions in the box office? Or is it by making the story popular (and hence draw in the crowds)? or is it to be true to the book, with profit only being a secondary motive?

Tonight, I watched "Mark Of Death". With Steven Segal. There was this line in the movie, when he was trying to locate this freaky VooDoo Man. He caught up to this girl who has been with this VooDoo Guy. She told him that, "He has 2 Heads, and 4 Eyes." What on earth was see referring to, or meant by this? Does anyone know? It's been puzzling me for a bit now.

Back in the late 60's there was a movie called Yellow Submarine featuring songs written and sang by the Beatles. I love that movie and I want to get it. I want recommendations of places or sites that sell it around ten dollars, including shipping and handling, that is not from eBay or amazon.com. Also, get one for yourself because it is awesome!

This movie was about 2 best friends..and they were girls. They both had a horse I think, or 1 of them did, at the end the one horse gets hit or something, and has surgery.. and the girl is very sad. On the back of the movie cover the two girls are screaming..in the dark. Please help! I watched this movie when I was little.

1980s. A man (he's blond) is a womanizer. As punishment for the way he's always disrespected women, or some sort of reincarnation, he BECOMES a woman & is to live a new life in this woman's body.
The woman looks like Crystal Bernard from "Wings" but this movie isn't listed on IMDB under her name. I cant remember the male actor's name.
The woman gets pregnant.
She DIES during childbirth, from complications due to diabetes.
I saw this movie when I was very little, maybe 6 years old, but I will never forget how scared I was to learn that women can die when having babies. (Of course now I am a wife with a new baby on the way, and I'm well aware of the %s and reasons for death during childbirth...I'm over this fear)!
I'm trying to figure out the name of this movie, so if it rings bells for anyone, please let me know! I've been thinking about it for about 20 years!

I am 25 years old, when I was a younger fella, I watched this series of movies with the kid and this monster, this monster was this kids buddy and would help him out of crunches. It was not an animated movie but just pictures every 5 seconds or so and a narration. The monster would go arrgggggggg!!!
Its really annoying me that I cant think of the name...I remember the video box being yellow and I think the monster was blue...
Anyone?

I need help.
I always remember this movie that i watched when i was about seven. I don't remember much but i do remember some parts.
The cover had 2 kids flying on something. A carpet maybe?
Its a cartoon.
And i remember one part where the king got engulfed in a red and black cloud and that part scared me.
Anyway if anyone knows this movie?

Do hotels really skip over floor 13 and go right to 14 like Mr. Olin mentions in the movie 1408? Or was that something just done for the movie?

The original Omen in the 1970s had three sequels that followed. Omen II was very good. Omen III was a bit corny but still okay. Then there was Omen IV (made for TV) It was pretty bad.

Would you like to see a remake of Damien: Omen II

I think it could be quite interesting.

Its about this girl that has to relive the day she was murdered and all i caught is she works at a gas station and this guy picks her up in her bf's truck and said he was busy working so he sent him. She gets kreeped out by this guy so when she gets home she locks her door and he knocks on it because she forgot her earring. She doesn't answer it but she grabs the earring after he walks back to the truck but the back door is unlock and he comes back and kills her. The next day she's back waiting for her boyfriend to come get her but this time he really does come.
