Absolutely. Vice versa, as well. Half of the actors' talents are in their dialogues, not only their actions and facial expressions.

I hate watching movies that have been dubbed. Not only is it annoying when the actor's mouths aren't synchronized with their words, but the translations often seem so ridiculous, I can't stand them. I actually caught an old Jet Li movie on tv a few weeks ago that had been dubbed, except it looked like the actors were speaking English to begin with, only their mouth in no way matched what they were saying. It looked rather ridiculous. Subtitles are generally better, at least then I can actually hear the original actors speak even if I don't speak the language.

Yup and normally the dubbed language spoilts the quality of the movie.

dubbed movies are definitely no match for original. but there is no way to watch good foreign movies unless dubbed in english. apart from entertainment such movies help to better appreciate the foreign surroundings, habits and culture.

I prefer subtitles also. I don't like how the motion of the mouths doesn't match the words.

Yeah, I would really just rather see subtitles. Audio not being in sync with mouth movements is really annoying.

Bad Dubbing can make a very poor movie watchable, so sometimes it has value.

I hate this and was talking about it today. Watch a film in it's original language - with subs if necessary.
