disney is a HUGE corporation...bigger than you can imagine, just because it's a disney movie doesn't mean it's for kids, like national treasure...that's not a bad movie but it isnt' exactly targeted for kids, they're tryin to branch out...
the disney channel however is an evil tool

it teaches kids to dress slutty and gives this image that everything is cool and everything turns out okay...dont get me started on the whole high school musical "machine"
kids need to learn that high school (and life in general) is not this big happy cheerful musical that always ends on a happy note, kids need to know the truth

nickelodeon is just as bad...you still have to monitor what kids watch,

I would say that Disney simply does not have to compete with the "violent and sexy" movies coming out of Hollywood. If you think about it, Disney is so big and established that people will probably ALWAYS go see Disney movies, no matter what the current trend in Hollywood is. For every new idea that someone comes up with and tries to make a huge blockbuster success out of Hollywood, all Disney has to do is make another movie and it will make money, even if it isn't any good.

That, my friend, is what they mean by "The Magic of Disney." :)

Maybe not the sex, but the violence yes. Today's generation is based off the idea that violence is cool. So Disney tries to match today's generation they make a bunch of stupid and violent movies. The sex part, they try to have like where to teens love each other and they make out at the end, that is as sexual they can get for the kids movies generally. However the most violent and sexual movie Disney produced so far is Pirates of the Caribbean and personally that wasn't very sexual but incredibly violent for a kid's movie.
