it was a film in the 90s i believe. all i can remember is this sort of wacky couple, and i think they got a job house-sitting or babysitting the kid(s) or something like that. they were like con-artists, i think. they had this big house. and i remember this scene where they bring the child a birthday cake, and if i'm not mistaken, somehow the kitchen, or the whole house gets set alight. the child hates them from what i can remember and they're quite a weird, not very nice couple. it's quite a strange movie, it's a comedy. i remember the woman was very sort of outlandish...i'm sorry, i know it's vague, but it's just sort of at the back of my head. i tried doing plot and keyword searches on IMDB from what i know, but i couldn't seem to find anything. anybody have an idea of what it might be? it was a bit kind of like "don't tell mom the babysitter's dead" - that style

In the Movie there were two scenes in the ice skating arena, I would like to know what music that was being played and even the opera singer in the first scene, when the young woman was practicing her skating.
Thank You for your help,

Mike

The "style" seems to start in the middle of a decade, and spills over into the next. 60's: It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World style thru to 70's Blazing Saddles-type movies. 70's Exorcist to 80's Poltergeist, The Shining, etc. 90's The Usual suspects led to twisted endings for the next decade. Twister brought on all natural disaster movies. The Matrix changed the look of futuristic movies. What would you say is the "new" thing that will take us into a portion of the 2010's?

Last night I watched a movie with Val Kilmer playing a blind man who is a massuere at a spa, and he falls in love with a girl named Amy. Near the middle, Amy is interested in Val Kilmer's character to receive surgery to restore his sight.

It was a movie I saw around 82. It was about generations of a family. The animated cartoon was rock music related and showed this family growing in their dreams and talents through their family line. The ending was awsome and so unexpected the end of the family line was a girl with all the talents they possessed it was awesome to see their struggles and triumps. Now when I saw this at the theaters I was 14 so I dont know if Ill like it as much now but Id sure like to see it again and turn my kids on to it if I do. Does anyone remember the title of this movie? I hope so,Thanks a bunch.PS I think I remember some space scenes in the movie.

I dont understand the very end of the movie, when that woman and her daughter arrive home. Are they still in another world, and is that why the husband doesn't see them? I am SO confused. A little help would be great.

I think this is a Stephen King movie. If I remember correctly, it is about an evil twin and a crow that brings people back from the dead. (It is not The Crow or The Good Son).

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I have a nice Home, a Lovely Girlfriend, 2 Great Kids, a Decent Job, a Good bunch of mates, BUT
Am i sad to have over 400 DVDs in a collection?

I don't collect anything else, i only watch maybe 3 a week due to the Kids knackering me out, and i still have a social life.

So i ask again. is it sad to have that many DVD's?
