OK, I admit that I wasn't thinking very clearly and this was horribly stupid but I fell for a magazine subscription scam today. These two guys came by my dorm room and asked if I'd help them out. I let them come into my room and we talked for a few minutes before they pitched the scam. I now know it was a scam because it fits the descriptions of many scams that I read about afterwards. I signed the receipt and put my name, number and address on there as well. I didn't have any cash on me so I went to an ATM machine. Luckily for me, I didn't have anything in my account. The guy that had come with me looked really pissed when I told him I and he walked away, 'apologizing' for bothering me. I didn't give them a check or credit card number or anything like that. Just my name, address and phone number. My question is could I still get scammed by them just having that information? I'm really worried and still can't believe how stupid I was for falling for that.
