Yes, 14 is too young, but having a grandmother who has had breast cancer is not nearly a concern as having a father who has or has precancerous tumors. Then, your chances are 95% according to an AMA study. Your chances also go way up if you get pregnant as a teenager. Your body is not fully ready for pregnancy until age 24. Under those circumstances, breast feeding your children for at least 2 years, and upwards of four helps repair the damage done.

Sweety,
Having a grandmother with breast cancer only puts you in a slight increase of getting breast cancer.
Unless you had many blood relatives with breast cancer you don't have to worry. 98% of breast cancers are not family related they just pop out of nowhere.
14 is very young to have breast cancer and almost non existent.
If you have a lump in your breast don't panic just show it to your mom and have it ultrasound.
My 19 year old daughter found a lump and it was a little tumor not cancer, we see it all the time.

You're wondering if it runs in families? Yes,it can,but if you're 14,don't worry.I'm not saying it can't happen, but the odds are high against it. Make your worries known to your doctor.Don't worry about being shy, he's examined thousands of girls and women. When you're a little older,ALWAYS get your breasts screened and examined. I hope your grandma is responding well to treatment. Ps.......If you do examine yourself and find any lumps, these could be just due to your body changing.Ask a nurse to show you how to examine your breasts properly
