Entertainment & Music - 9 February 2007

It is a freezing cold grey afternoon here in Kingston Upon Thames, Surrey (UK), I have just over an hour until I can leave work at 5pm. It is dark already and I can't wait for home, my brother-in -law and his partner are coming over for dinner and it's always great fun! All I can see at the moment is these office walls and it's drizzling outside.

I mean, anytime ANYONE dies, it's sad for someone. Not for the person who dies, who, depending on your beliefs, either goes to a better place, starts fresh, or ceases to exits entirely, therefore having no idea that he or she died. But, yeah, it's sad for people who miss the person.

But are we really so lame as to sincerely MISS a celebrity? I mean, she/he didn't know you existed. You never chatted with him/her. You didn't have frequent friendly visits that are now going to cease. So why is it such a big deal?

I have to admit that was the first thing that came to mind when I heard of his death. Because his death just seemed suspicious, like maybe it was suicide. And that was BEFORE I heard other people speculate about that as well.

In a crowded city at a busy bus stop, a beautiful young woman wearing a tight mini skirt was waiting for a bus. As the bus stopped and it was her turn to get on, she became aware that her skirt was too tight to allow her leg to come up to the height of the first step of the bus.Slightly embarrassed and with a quick smile to the bus driver, she reached behind her to unzip her skirt a little, thinking that this would give her enough slack to raise her leg. She tried to take the step, only to discover that she couldn't.So, a little more embarrassed, she once again reached behind her to unzip her skirt a little more, and for the second time attempted the step.Once again, much to her chagrin, she could not raise her leg. With a little smile to the driver, she again reached behind to unzip a little more and again was unable to take the step.
About this time, a large Alabama man who was standing behind her picked her up easily by the waist and placed her gently on the step of the bus.
