And her name before marriage was Anna Mae Bullock - it doesn't quite have the same ring to it, that's probably why she kept the married name!!

Ike named he Tina Turner cause she sang like a wild cat .So rent the movie and get ll the details. the book was written by Kurt Loder of MTV fame its the same title as the movie.

Tina Turner has retired now so she is enjoying life in retirerment.
as for why she kept her name Ike gave her it was because that was how she was known to her fans. so it was in her settelment in crout that she kept the name, this is stated in the film What's Love Got To Do With It?.

Because after all Ike put her through, she felt like she had earned that name. It was her name and personality she worked hard for and wanted to keep. Not Ike's marital name.
