Do you ever find that if you look at, hear or say a word over and over it starts to sound weird? or you start to forget it meaning?

yes, all the time also when I'm writing/typing a regular word it doesn't look right!

This happens because your brain accepts certain words as being the norm, as you would have gradually learnt them over your lifetime. When you keep repeating the same words your brain thinks that this must be a different word as you did not accept the first meaning it gave you and tries to look for alternatives a bit like an electronic thesaurus. Brains are really clever!

YES!!! The word "sink" If I say it too many times it just starts to not even sound like a word anymore. Or like it has any meaning. I have noticed this since I was in elementary school.

Yes! Trying saying it enough times and some words you can't even pronounce correctly anymore.
