Limewire Problems.. HELP!?

I have a question. I have never used Limewire before.
1) is it illegal to download the music
2) is it totally free?
3)when i click to download a song it says i do not have a liscence to download it.
4) can i burn cd's with limewire legally?

Do you think that now, compared to the past, people look younger (generally speaking of course)?
