So far : 200 episodes, 10 seasons, 3 SGC Generals, 1 continuing timeline. Very soon there will be more SG1 episodes than the Original Star Trek(with Kirk, Spock, McCoy, Uhura and Scott) and Star Trek : The Next Gereation(with Picard, Riker, Data, Troi, LaForge and Crusher) combined. SG1 has no need for theater released movies. There have been story arcs that last more than 3 hours (4 + episodes).
There are still 3 of the main characters in the series since the begining.
Put SG1 on the "big" screen longer than a Star Wars movie and it would still feel rushed and incomplete. Is there any reason why , with acting and writing continuing to be great, that we'll be talking about the 20th season of SG1 and the 10th Season of SG: Atlantis?
