We are starting dog training classes where I work and I cannot think of a name that would be good for the kids class (where kids are the handlers) that fits into the University/Academy theme. Do you guys have any thoughts?

When we introduce an animal in a story or or an article, should we use THE or A / AN?

Some of what I have read made use of THE while some made use of A / An.

For example, 'the giraffe' is the tallest animal. Why can't we use 'a giraffe' in this sentence?

Thanks for your help.

Recently, I read something on this site somewhere where someone had combined the word trifecta with something like crap, or crummy, or s***, and it ended up meaning, well, basically, winning the crap lottery. It was a very clever word, and one that I have not heard or seen before. It really cracked me up, but I cannot find it now.

Any ideas? I want to write that one down, as it might come in handy later.

Thanks!
