how do you transfer water in a strainer from one end of a high school gym to an empty slurpy cup at the other end of the gym? the cup has a line three-quarters of the way up; you have to fill cup passed the line. you can only hold strainer by the handles and not allowed to plug the holes of strainer in any way. you only are allowed one trip to fill the cup; you can not go back and forth with water. hope this isn't too easy.

there is a ping-pong ball in an empty slurpy cup. for the sake of the riddle, the cup is indestructible and immovable. in other words it can not be tipped over or torn apart. how do you get the ball out of the cup? you can not reach into it in any way or get someone else to reach into it. you are not allowed to blow into it by any means either.

Which is better:
RSVP by Friday, July 7, with your name and your guests' names.
Or
RSVP by Friday, July 7 with your name and the name(s) of your guest(s).
My proofer has suggested that it should be the second.
I hate the extra parens. Since there could be more than one guest should the apostrophe be guests' and since each guest has more than one name even if there is one guest names can remain names.
Thanks.
