I know "." = full stop OR period but, why do people write "period" instead of putting the "." sign.

1) What is the only genuine English word to end in 'amt'?

2) Find two words that each contain the first 6 letters of the alphabet yet are only 8 letters long.

3) Find a 10 letter word in which the letters R,S,T,U appear consecutively and in this order. (Actually, there are three words but I'll settle for one).

4) Find an English word where the letter 'I' appears seven times. One other vowel appears in the word.

5) And finally, 'miaouing' (the noise a cat makes) has 5 consecutive vowels. Can you think of at least one other word in the English Language that fits this bill?
