Which is better:
RSVP by Friday, July 7, with your name and your guests' names.
Or
RSVP by Friday, July 7 with your name and the name(s) of your guest(s).
My proofer has suggested that it should be the second.
I hate the extra parens. Since there could be more than one guest should the apostrophe be guests' and since each guest has more than one name even if there is one guest names can remain names.
Thanks.

How about this for a compromise:

RSVP by Friday, July 7 with your name and those of any guests.

Both options are grammatically correct, however the first obliquely assumes the respondent is bringing more than one guest. I'd go with the second.
