OK people, I'm not looking to have a the term "self-hate" described to me, I'm not looking for song lyrics, or a clinical diagnosis, or to find Jesus or even Jebus. I just want a single word (ONE WORD) that can be used to describe that idea. I'm trying to use it to describe a novel "Abel Sanchez" by Miguel DeUnamuno. A friend challenged me to sum it up in one word. No hyphens allowed. To the person who can provide the answer, I will be eternally grateful and pray to whatever God you so choose to let you enter the lady of 40 virgin geese or whatever gets your rocks off. Peace

Scotty

Most commonly the term is just hyphenated as "self-hate." The physiological term is Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and is defined as a severe form of depression. Borderline personality disorder is diagnosed as a cluster of long-standing problems with relationships, identity or sense of self, and the control of emotions and behavior.

In a milder form that most teenagers experience, it is called angst.
